That means a lot to me! I see theres a lot of tutorials out there and yea they are kinda boring, and I try and keep mine quick and to the point. So I really really appreciate the kind feedback (especially for this video because it is somewhat advanced and not many eyes have seen it) Have fun creating man!
You just rock my world Jamie ! watched 3-4 videos you make to help us improve in video editing and already a Fffannnatic :) Keep up the great stuff that You already Do, either way I am already very pleased with what I learned so far from You Big Bo$$!
This is an awesome feature and well done tutorial. The only thing I complain about is you're not mentioning this feature is only available in the studio (paid) version. Because davinci resolve is such a great piece of software and offers so much more in the free version than any other free video editor I know many of us users are drooling when watching this and then are heavily disappointed finally realizing it is not in our free version. Please don't write only "Davinci Resolve" but add that "Studio" as well when treating features of the studio version which aren't in the free version. And eventually mentioning in the intro you're coping are feature of the paid version wouldn't hurt. Thanks a lot for all your work and tutorials and keep up the great work.
Ketubiq // Games and More is the playback choppy in the fusion tab or the edit tab? Either way make sure to optimize your video and timeline to its max abilities.
@@JamieFenn i´m assuming that you are good in designing things or at least know someone thats good in this field. You could create a logo for the shirts or hoodies. If thats not possible, signings are always good too.
Hey man, thanks for this. You should look into using HDRI maps for lighting your 3D scene, that way you don't have to manually deal with lights. Thanks again for your content
Have you ever tried exporting a tracked camera, imported into Maya/blender, iClone scene, render out the animation and have it layered over film back in Fusion with shadows? For example to walk around an animated character combining footage of walking around something that doesn't exist but you track it, export and align the camera in your animation program, render, import it as a foreground with a separate video as a background alpha as a mask?
Thank you so much for your videos i like it soo much... But i have a little question wich is what do you prefer Personly davinci resolve or after effects.. And i want really to know which is the one using to create in Hollywood studios... Thanks agian
@@JamieFenn @JamieFenn If you are talking about this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jnj9-tifqaA.html Yes, l've seen. Amazing! But Im talking about 3D floating texts. I will get some examples and send here.

This might be a stupid question, but how d o you put stuff in viewer window 1 or 2? Is there a keyboard command?
Cook Torrence?! WTF is that! Another great video man, I really appreciate your work. Do you know of an online course or resource that would go a bit deeper into the fusion world? It just seems like it can do anything, I just need to learn what all the tools do. Cheers bru!
Mike Erickson hahaha I could explain a lot more in my videos but I don’t want them to be an hour long. Much appreciate the kind words Mike! And I’m self taught so I can’t recommend anything for you sorry man!
Hey Jamie I’m new to fusion and your tutorials have helped me get a much better grab on it, I always wonder how you get the shots were we can see both your hands, are you using a go pro attached to your head?if so which one, if not what are you using?
Video objects like something from a green screen or rotoscoped out? Definitely! Instead of creating a world just add that media instead. But also, you would have to shoot a video object correctly to make it fit with the scene.
@@JamieFenn Yes. what I'm thinking is taking two shots where a camera moves around a person. Let's say for simplicity a circular orbit pointing at the centre, but one at say 5x the radius of the other so the person at the centre appears shrunken. Then somehow place the smaller one in the larger to get a "fairy on an open palm" type of shot. More generally doing something like this: VideoSnapping: Interactive Synchronization of Multiple Videos ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iwT8Hs3rMug.html
Hey Jamie! I was tried add DropShadow node to make a shadow under the 3dSphere and failed with it - it doesn't work, can you please let me know how to fix it? Thanks!
@@JamieFenn I am new to Davinchi, learned a lot through your lessons, especially about nodes, subscribed to you, I meant in sound, couldn't find that. Thank you for sharing your videos
Hi I need help... every time i try pressing solve using 3d camera tracker. It says... "Solved Failed: not enough tracks- mathematically, there must be atleast 8 tracks in common between consecutive frames to reconstruct the camera motion.........etc...." What do i do?
How you composite object behind something? Let’s say you have city scene and you wanna add building model to that scene and part of that building model is behind something.
not sure if you still check comments on this video, but i am trying to do something and im not sure exactly how; the clip im trying to create is someone standing on a beach, looking out at the water as a giant person stands up out of the water, towering over them. i have both plates, the shot on the beach and the keyed out clip of me standing up in front of a green screen. how do i combine these elements in resolve?
nice tuto bro. How can export the 3D camera data to 3DS max, work with a scene and then export an EXR file back to Fusion? Do you know a tutorial for that?
Hi Jamie, i´m a absolute beginner with zero knowledge of Fusion, but i want to absolutely master it. Do you know where can i find a comprehensive course online from beginner to advanced? Thanks a lot.
I'm sure you get this question alot, but what are the specs of the laptop you work on? Would a RTX 2060 gpu with a i7 9th gen processor and 32gb of ram be able to handle this kind of editing in fusion or do you think the program will crash alot?
Is it possible to add shadow on the desk of the globe, and is it possible to add shadow on the globe of your hands? I know how to do it in Blender, but not in Davinci Resolve.
Hlw fenn can u pls tell me how to move 360⁰ a 3d object in preview window. Means how to scroll this object side wise... Pls tel i can'do this. I only scroll the mouse wheel and there is a motion in upward and downward direction. I want to scrol sidewise . Pls say
Yea I think its because the camera movement was a little shaky. I realized I didn't have hypersmooth on just he regular stabilization. That could be the culprit.
@@JamieFenn Ahh just so you know, you don't want stabilization on when doing a camera track, this may actually explain it, you would be better to have used a gimbal. I have tried to track shots stabilized by the camera's built in features and its nightmare, even using Syntheyes (something to do with the way the stabilization warps the image slightly). You also don't particularly need a smooth motion shot, as long as the motion blur is kept to a minimum. Great tutorial though :)
Good to know. I was wearing a gopro on my head and the distortion is pretty recognizable so one thing you could do is lens distort (by eye) inside fusion before you track, and then apply that as well before the output. I think that may work a little better not sure. I think it would take a lot of trial and error. With that said, I don't think a lot of people have a gimbal so I tried to taylor this to as many people as possible. I should have tried different types of stabilization effects. If you watch till the end, there's another shot that I used using my GH5 and 11-16 tokina, the IBIS honestly didn't work so well with the track, and the reason I didn't use that clip for the example is because it didn't really show the 3d objects in a 3d environment. Thanks for the kind words though!
@@JamieFenn You would FOR SURE want to correct lens distortion before doing a track of an action camera, I am almost 100% sure that's the issue actually! Software like Syntheyes has built in distortion correction for all sorts of cameras because with the natural distortion its impossible too get an accurate track.
Hello guys!!! I’m needing a help here!!! I’m just a autodidactic beginner FUSION student and I’m trying to practice Fusion, just watching your tutorial, and trying to do a similar one so how do I mask an object 3D that I just added into a video? It means, I’m trying to mask my hand in front a 3D obj but I can’t find out how.. I did almost everything but logically, not the right one yet!!🙃😇 Can someone give me a tip? A video tutorial or just describe here ? Thanks in advance!!!
Jamie Fenn Hey mate!! Thanks for your help!!!! Actually, I messed up all things here!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Fusion, became CONFUSION!!! ( sorry about this ridiculous joke ok?!). So, I will try to do everything again ‘cos for sure, I miss something!!! Really thanks mate!!!!
Sorry to boring you mate.. I did what you said but nothing happened. It means, when I try to attach the polygon node onto shape3D node, the shape is disconnected and vice versa.. So, I have a earth, plugged in a cook Torrence, plugged in shape 3D, plugged in a merge3D. It is correct?
Id have to open up my project and see what youre talking about. This is a bit of an advanced question to answer just on the comments section of the video.
Shane A. Mason This is not a beginner tutorial by any means. I could talk for hours cover the details of all the functions of every step but that’s not what my audience is interested in.
@@JamieFenn Cheers - I would listen - you seem to really know Da Vinci really well. Thanks for taking the time to make these - I will keep chipping away/
