So people invented phones with buttons. Clever people invented phones without buttons. Later on, humanity invents buttons for phones without buttons! WTF
Sounds good, but their FAQ says it only works when the screen is on, which makes it already unusable for instant pictures or quickly controlling music playback. Nope, for that price this limitation is too extreme imho.
SaHaRaSquad Currently due to security concerns this functionality is disabled in stock Android. We are working closely with Google Android team to find a way to bring this to the next versions of the operating system. For the time being you have to root your device and install the xposed framework. HELLO JUST ROOT YOUR PHONE?
This would be awesome if you could register the buttons for touch buttons in games like modern combat and nova and even ppsspp. I would just buy 2 and slap them on the top and bottom of my phone and use them like L and R triggers. Someone needs to create this and i would actually game on the phone with ease.
+K Swift actually could you confirm if the dimple registers as joypad butttons in the ppsspp control configuration menu? Im actually interested in using this on my note 4.
+K Swift Poor marketing victim. Before "booming iphone" era there were good phones like xperia play and xperia pro (now its motorola droid 4 and photon q. Also there's samsung relay 4g but it has common piece of shit design by samsung). Xperia play is actually slider like pro only instead of keyboard it has gamepad. Even with gamesticks so u can play PSX games. But then (after 2012) vendors decided to dumb you people down and started to make only piece of shit touch screen rectangles. Now you dream about buttons. Damn, people, you are retarded by buying iphones and samsungs for last 5 years. Nothing beats physical keyboards and keys. But you've chosen autistic touch screens. "Thank you" very much. Thank god blackberry is still making qwerty phones.
My guess is this is simply a set of small NFC circuits like you can buy for pennies with carbon connectors on rubber domes that completes the circuit when pressed. The most important bit is the app.
The buttons are flat so bumping it shouldnt turn it on. the only way to press the button is by using something with a narrow point like a finger or pen
***** It would, but this way you can apply it to any non metal phone. If it was a case, the company would have to make tons of cases for the ton of different phone models out there.
+SquirrelForce Actually, for me this makes more sense for a case, surprised I haven't seen any cases with NFC buttons already built in, pretty brilliant. I don't think I'd like to put this on my "naked" phone, but if you use a case for specific times (jogging, sporting with stuff etc) this might come in handy with music services and such! Might pick one up for my case!
Well the iPhone for 1.doesnt even work with this and won't due to IOS limits. 2.Nfc on it is currently not developer oriented(this will likely change) 3.So NFC works with glass but not metal, hmm. Doesn't cellular/wifi work with plastic only.
To save you some search time, it does come in different colors. The black is like a grey and it looks sleek af. Also comes in white, dark black, yellow, green, red, orange, teal, blue like picture. This will not work with iPhone, apple only allows NFC tech for apple pay. They are making a case with these buttons preinstalled and also making a version with small buttons. Both will be out very soon. "Does this work with the _____"? If your device runs Android 4.0 and above, is not made out of metal, and has NFC technology, you are safe to assume that DIMPLE will work with it. Can I put it on my case? DIMPLE can be attached directly to your case instead of to the surface of your device. Unless the case is made out of metal, you should be fine. What if I accidentally press it ? We have engineered the buttons impossible to be pressed unintentionaly. The buttons are flush with the surface of the DIMPLE. I do not work for them or associate with them in any way, all this info came from site and will just save you some time.
What's a troll? Can someone confirm pls. I bought a new used Nokia from a guy who said he was from 1993. He looked like g-man from half life. He said if I bought this Nokia, it would make me ahead of the times because the phone can time travel if I have the extra buttons. Confirm?
Can these guys think about integrating this into a case? I think that would be the best, I mean have protection for your phone, have the buttons optimally placed for reach, best location for NFC signal (cases are phone specific) and you also wouldn't have to worry about it falling off/unsticking while in your pocket.
Airdrop uses Wifi and Bluetooth, the devices would have to be much closer if it used NFC. The only Apple devices with NFC are the iPhone 6 and up and they can only be used for Apple Pay.
+Alex Urena Apart from the OnePlus 2 what flagship phone doesn't have NFC? Most phones even the non flagship ones will have it. Heck even the iPhone has NFC, Apple just won't share it with any developers
+Sunny Wu No, on eBay these are not button, just NFC tags, you can't stick these to your phone. They are used to stick in a place, and then you have to put your phone on this place to do things. You can use the Dimple app to do things with these NFC tags but this is not the best thing to do i think.
I found another make, for a higher price, there are more buttons and even a couple dials, has multiple functionalities, can toast almost anything, bagels, bread, etc. Go look on eBay. You don't even need a case, or NFC.
and this is why I like the Droid Turbo all I need to do is give it a quick Shake in the flashlight automatically comes on then give it another quick shake and flashlight automatically turns off
Sam Hernandez looool do you really think i would use this on my iphone? or ANYBODY in the world would use this? really? We are not like ur android guys who bought unfinished products just because they are cheap and we even have to upgrade our phones with stickable buttons to make it usefull loooooool yeah so jealous we have a beatifull full functional phone without having to pay addiotnal for stickable ugly looking buttons, you got it :D:DD:D:D
BlueTheKu no im not gay. Everybody cares about the look of their phones, watches, tshirt and co. But forhet it, u probl that stupid by thinking only "gay" people are looking for astetheics in things and also using "gay" as somethign negative that i jsut blocked u lol. to stupid to be worse my time.
I want to make my phone control the paper towel dispenser at work. Also let my pretend cat out when I'm not home. Not my phone, I mean somebody swing by and let my pretend cat out.
Oh man, I would love that on my phone. Unfortunately I don't have NFC. Also, I wonder if the buttons might get pressed accidentally if you put it in your pocket or something.
