These systems look and sound promising. The problem is that there are so few certified installers of these systems - only in the biggest major cities. If you're in the middle of fly-over America and something goes wrong, you're stuck!

Buyer beware on these Unico systems. I'm on my third coil in 7 years and this one is going to cost me $3k.

How does this compare to central AC in terms of allergy filtration

Is there only one return point? Would this require vents to allow air to leave rooms with shut doors?

Hi Steven... It can be just one or multiple returns. If you're going to have closed doors with just one return, you can also use transfer grills. Should you have any additional questions, please contact our Customer Service department at (800) 527-0896.

I need to install central heat/AC in my house that was built in 1975. Two story with a full attic that has access to all bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs. And the basement is full to access all rooms up-to the first floor. Currently it is hot water baseboard heat w/no AC. How do these air handlers handle the heat of an attic in the hot summers? I know electronics and blower motors etc don't like high heat surroundings, and cause a shorter life.

Hi Ray... Thank you for reaching out. This sounds like the perfect application for our product! We have probably thousands of installations that are installed in attics so that shouldn’t be a problem at all. So, you could install a system in your attic for the second floor rooms and have one in the basement for the first floor rooms. Or, depending on the size of your home, it’s possible you could do the entire home with just one system. We would recommend having a contractor familiar with our product come and visit the site to get a better idea of your needs . Unico System

@@TheUnicoSystemSDHV ...thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately what I have been told by 4 HVAC professionals (at my home) was not good at all: "the components are extremely expensive, very temperamental, high maintenance and problematic". From what they told me, I was disappointed. And one company was a bigger one, Hutchinson heating and air Conditioning.

@@hmdwn any chance you went with this system 3 years later now? I am in almost an exact same situation right now. Home built in 77, only has baseboard boiler heat, raised ranch with lots of room in the attic. I just had my HVAC guy out to give me options and he told me about unico and said it would be perfect for our home for cooling. (around 1500 sq). So I'm starting my research to see if it's as good as he said. The big picture idea for us is keep the boiler but put in radiant floor heating with it, (ditching the baseboards) and use the unico for AC and spring/fall heat (in chicagoland). The boiler would heat the home during our cold Midwest winters. I know it's been 3 years, but on the off chance you see this, I'd love to hear what you did and how you like it so far.
