The trick I use is, I stay very focused in my mind to feel where i am making the lines, sometimes they don't come out straight sometimes they do. I would say practice makes perfect.

Hey Sis love this protective style so much! Just wish i could do it as neat and nice as you. I'm good with cornrow not flat twist. It being your first time it looks very well done. 😂😂😂, I wish removing hairstyle was that easy. But this style can be achieved with cornrows as well
