Between florianopolis n balneario do camburiu, there's a city called bombinhas, for me it's the biggest spot to be, nice n easy trails, so snow can go along Curtis. Enjoy it guys.✌
A trilha da Lagoinha do Leste é uma das mais difíceis da ilha. Parabéns para o Curt por ter conseguido! Outra bem legal a fazer é a trilha de Naufragados no sul da ilha. Lagoinha do Leste trail is one of the hardest of Floripa. Congratulations for make it through Curt! Another one really fun is Naufragados trail in the south of Floripa!

Quando eu vi que tu estava indo sozinho pela trilha mais longa para Lagoinha do Leste, fiquei receoso por ti. Muitos sem experiência já se perderam ali ou tiveram alguma lesão na trilha. Mas ainda bem que achou companheiros pelo caminho. Já fiz exatamente essa trilha e acampei alguns dias à beira da lagoa em Lagoinha do Leste.
Wow what a hike! I like that little bird that seemed to be showing you the way then flew away. Beautiful views. It looks like you have some good hikes ahead as some of the other comments are. Snow the hurricane hit Florida this morning and I hope your family is safe, I'm not sure which side of the state they live on. While you weren't able to see any whales on last video you got a great sighting of surfers on this one.
Glad you enjoyed it. My dad and my aunt live about 35-40 miles south of where it made landfall. They are inland, so storm surge is not a problem. I've heard from them.... No power, but so far the houses are ok. 🤞🤞🤞🤞 Thank you for thinking about them.

Well done, Snow and Curt! You are doing a brilliant job. You ended up staying in one of the nicest sites here in Florianopolis. I actually recommended this place for you (Armação Beach) in a post a couple of videos ago. Yes Curt, those are mullets which in Portuguese are called ‘tainha’. Right now, we are in the season for ‘tainhas’ and you should try them (if not yet) in a local restaurant. Of all trails here in Florianópolis, Curt probably did the most beautiful one (Armação -> Matadeiro -> Lagoinha do Leste -> Pantano do Sul). That was epic! And thank you for sharing it with us. There is so much you can do in this area of Armação. You can take a boat to Campeche Island, or just cross the main road and explore that little lagoon, Lagoa do Peri. Another beautiful trail that you could do while you are here in Florianopolis would be the one from ‘Barra da Lagoa’ to ‘Praia Mole’… But there are so many other trails as well! You might need a good map. And if you are deep into wildlife, you can always find a comping site at Rio Vermelho and explore Moçambique, which is also the island’s longest beach. The sand dunes of Joaquina beach is also worth visiting… And last but least, I am glad to see that you crossed the old steel bridge (another recommendation of mine) that connects the Island of Santa Catarina to the mainland. It filled my heart with joy.

Sou de Laguna, mas já morei em ambos os lados da Lagoinha do leste (meu lugar favorito em Floripa), não é uma trilha fácil, mas vale a pena, lugar lindo demais, parabéns. “I am from Laguna, but I have lived on both sides of Lagoinha do Leste (my favorite place in Floripa). It’s not an easy trail, but it’s worth it, such a beautiful place, congratulations.” 😊
If you want a good meal and adventure and a hike, then go to Costa da Lagoa. You have to take a little boat to get to the island. It's quick and sweet. Then a meal at Sabor da Costa is amazing. Afterwards you can explore the island by walking. Very nice. The entrance to the ferry is on the main road between Barra de Lagoa and Rio vermelho. Also on this road is the entrance to the main entrance to the Mozambique Beach.
In the island you can find a great hiking place near the lagoon of conceição. The name of the path is "caminho costa da lagoa" in the end of the path you find a great lookout, where you see the lagoon and the atlantic sea.
Wow Curt, that was quite the hike and treacherous terrain. Easy to fall and lose track of the trail. Glad you decided not to go further and called Snow to pick you up. You met some really nice people and I'm glad they stuck by your side. I loved the surfer footage and just listening to the waves was so calming. Great job and I hope your muscles aren't too sore.
Thank you so much for the gorgeous scenery. However, I think my blood pressure was very high as I watched Curt navigate the rocks. I would have liked to do that hike when I was healthier but now I just watch. Thank you for sharing.

What a hike....but what a view...and thank you for the view...I live in Sāo Paulo city...but never saw such a wonderful view....Brazil is amazing all the way up to the north up of the country....climate and land in different conditions but the beaches always just fantastically wonderful....you will have a wonderful moment everywhere....I lived in three states in the USA...Utah, Texas and Tennessee...loved them for their beautiful land and also their many typical conditions...loved the mountains in Utah, the green and beautiful nature in Tennessee, the desert and gorgeous mountains in Texas with the beautiful Easter ares where the green is also with it’s area beauty... but they don’t have the beaches, I missed it. I visited the up North Sea area in California, that was an amazing moment for me...I loved the area as well ... sure wishing you a wonderful trip, it is worthy😊🎉❤

Just to clarify the local geography as far as names are concerned. The island, informally known as the Magic Island, is named Santa Catarina Island (which is also the name of the state Florianópolis is the capital). ‘Florianópolis’ happens to be the name used for the entire municipality, which includes Santa Catarina Island and part of the adjacent mainland.
In the past the city was called Desterro, but Brazil's 2nd President (Floriano Peixoto) invaded the city, promoted a massacre and the name was changed to Florianópolis in his honor. Amazing place, cool sounding name ("Floripa") but it's quite an absurd outcome that stuck

Magic words, Gainesville, U of Fla. Hello, I'm 4th generation Floridian. I've lived in Canasvieiras, at the end of hwy 401, for 3 years. A small beach town. The people are amazing, and Floripa is totally safe, especially at night. I'm never going back to the states. Oh, when you hear a loud boom, it's a fire cracker, not a gun.😊

We have the Mavericks here out of Half Moon Bay, CA. Magnificent waves for Surfers. You two are the most adventurous couple and really make me feel I could do better. Curt, you scared me when you went out on that ledge! You are a fantastic hiker/climber! You dressed perfectly for your adventure. Bet seeing your Van was a sight for tired eyes!

Very close to you there is the serra de santa catarina with one of the best known roads for travelers and bikers, the serra do rio do rastro, i think it would be worth the visit.
If you guys come to the state of Paraná you really should visit Ilha do Mel, a little charming island on the coast of the state that often don't receive the attention it really deserves, i think you guys are the perfect match to it and its hikes and beauties.
You got the hardest trail, there is another short one from Pantano Sul beach to lagoinha do leste (it is not easy, but shorter). And Snow can go there by boat. At Pantano Sul beach you can hire a boat to take her there without going by the trail.
Curt, now I believe you could have done the trail to the cave. It was crazy, man. You are made of iron. Next time I'll take you to all the trails here, even the new ones, hahaha
Excellent video! I buy wheatgrass seeds and I grow my kitties grass in a cup. If you can get some seeds and and a little bag of dirt. You could grow it for them all the time.
