Add protein to your eggs! Dominique Ludwig Nutrition

Just another way to make your eggs fill you up. I love this for breakfast or lunch and it’s so simple that you can make it while your eggs are cooking.
Simply poach or boil a couple of eggs, I do this in a shallow frying pan if I poach as they tend to hold together better.
Next take 150 g of high protein yoghurt (10 g of protein per 109g grams) and stir in one crushed garlic clove, some lemon juice, salt, pepper, and fresh herbs. I use what I have in the kitchen, so usually parsley, coriander or basil.
Top with some pesto and use some crusty bread to scoop up all of the yoghurt.
So the science part… Eggs contain just 6 g of protein each, so 2 eggs = 12 g of protein. This is okay, but it’s actually a low protein meal.
From 20 years experience in Clinic, I know that when women eat around 25 to 30 g of protein at meal times they feel better. Better energy, better hormone balance, better blood sugar control, better focus, better mood, better sleep and better appetite control.
This means that rather than feeling like they are being deprived, they feel satiated. When we switch our appetite off, not only can we get on to do other things, but we feel in control of our food, our appetite and our health.
Eating a low protein diet, higher carb diet can make us feel continually hungry. Many women are having a constant conversation with their brain about how much they should or should not eat, because they genuinely feel hungry.
The answer is to eat more protein and fibre at meals and this mechanism switches off our appetite all by itself. No deprivation required!
Including my chickpea roll ( recipe posted in the last two weeks) I had 34g of protein and 8g of fibre in this dish.
I think it would be nice with some beluga lentils as a base. I will try that next time as that will naturally boost the fibre.
Daring to eat more at your meal times often means that you eat less in between. It’s a game changer.
