FYI. Elijah Muhammad from Nation of Islam and the NOI are the founders of intermittent fasting. The NOI has been practicing, and recomending intermittent fasting since the 1930s. Elijah Muhammad published an entire book about intermittent fasting in 1967 called "Eat To Live". NOI members to this day eat 1 meal per day or 1 meal every other day.

My husband does IF and OMAD. It has been an absolute miracle what it has done to his body and skin. My husband is retired military and had horrible chemical burns on his arms and body as well as a gunshot wound to the abdomen. All of his burns and gunshot wound are completely healed. He literally has zero scars left. This has been from almost 10 yrs of doing IF and OMAD. He started this journey because he was getting the munchies at night from taking ambien to help him sleep. He had me make sure to not let him eat at night and he was always so busy at work that he ended up only eating OMAD.He lost the weight and his skin started to heal. IF is literally a miracle for skin rejuvenation the natural way. He is 50 and looks amazing for his age.

@@nickijaycox7773OMAD can be tricky bc you still need to cram 1200+ cals into a single meal and your goal is to not spike your insulin the rest of the day with drinks. The easiest way to do OMAD is to try it once a week. Allow yourself time to research healthy/calorie sufficient OMAD meals, then do it twice a week. There’s no one meal plant that fits all nutrition/weight goals and you may not even need to do OMAD to reach your goals. 2 meals a day in a 6 hour (18 fasting hours) window is extremely powerful if you’re not at that level yet. Best of luck!!
@RikluzYT
@RikluzYT 4 месяца назад
@@nickijaycox7773When you fast long enough and start using ketones for fuel, the body will convert stored fat into the energy you need. As long as you aren’t underweight the body will compensate for the difference between calorie intake and what your body needs. If you avoid carbs then you go back to using ketones faster and you will have stable energy all day.

As a nurse of 35 years experience who just retired, I now have leisure time where I’ve been engaged in sites health oriented. I’ve been recommending that people who neither believe nor have been educated on the physiology of fasting/keto read your very excellent information. Got blasted last night by a nurse with a masters in biology/physiology because she thinks that people need to stuff themselves with carbs and that the only reason IF works is the decrease in calories. I once again said to listen to you and read your well written books. Sadly the reason I retired was because a large percentage of my joints are bone on bone not weight related but lax joints/dislocations. Need 4-5 more surgeries. I've been paying attention, for the last several months, to the breadcrumbs left by random people talking about fasting, and I realized that they're all healthy and fit. I decided to do a 24 hour fast that turned into a 48 fast. I was all set to break my fast today at 5:30. Thanks to my research on RU-vid the last several hours, I decided to extend it to 72 hours. I feel that I've received enough information on how to correctly fast and to make healthier food choices. I'm now at 56 hours, and I'm not craving food. I want to eat, but I don't feel famished in any sense of the word. God is why I'm here.

Started this 1st Nov 23 when I weighed 89 kilo's. Now nearly 4 months later I am 72 kilo's. My window is from 14.00 to 18.00pm Cut out all sugar,which was my demon and also carbs on most days. Eat lots of veg,, meat, nuts and occasional fruit and dairy. Really enjoy the feeling of fasting. I used to weigh a constant 64 kilo's and was very fit but the last 10 years i gained the weight due to cancer treatment, comfort eating due to sudden loss of mother and my dogs in quick succession followed by covid lock down. Didn't know how to get back into shape until I came across fasting. I really recommend it.

@okcarter2404
@okcarter2404 3 месяца назад
@philipreed6893 OMAD is One Meal A Day (2MAD is the acronym for 2 Meals A Day). It is a way to restrict calories, wuthout drastically cutting caloies, and it allows the body to adjust its hormone regulation by eliminating frequent hormone, such as insulin, spikes. Paired with exercise (calisthenics, weight training, & interval training), OMAD can steady "remake" your body and spirit no matter your age. Younger people & very physically active people may be better served by 2MAD eaten in a scheduled 4-to-8 hour period every day. There are many, many RU-vid videos on OMAD & some on 2MAD. Best wishes on your personal enrichment journey.

He had what he wanted, which included his beloved Dr Pepper. But, from 8pm to 4pm the next day, it was only water, black coffee and unsweet tea. He said the thing that kept him motivated was every time he lost even 2 ounces, he took a picture of that weight showing on the scales. Prevention is essential. There's no money to be made with lifelong prescriptions and emergency surgeries if everyone is healthy.

Been saying this for years, we grow up learning that eating 3 times a day is IMPORTANT....for the system to work,not you. I eat once a day,never been better and weight is steady, eating 3 times a day is actually insane. They want money, we are the income, and commercials has shaped us since the dawn of time basicly. Its all lies.

I've been doing this way before it became popular. Growing up, I just wasn't hungry. It's really cool that at a really young age I listened to my body and now it's a way to improve your weight and health. For a long time, people thought I had an ED, but I simply wasn't hungry in the morning.

Ive been unintentionally fasting for 44yrs, I've never eaten breakfast which everyone told me i needed to be eating "the most important meal of the day" I eat dinner at roughly 7pm and don't eat again until maybe 2pm. Ive never been hungry at 6am, the last thing I want to do first thing in the morning is eat. I know this is a crazy idea but i only eat when im hungry.

My nutritionist actually told me that fasting does not work and that for me to eat small meals during the day....I felt discouraged a bit, but I told her that I respect her opinions, but it does work.

I think more people would be open to fasting if the focus wasn't always on losing fat. Makes it seem like a miracle diet which people should be leary about. There are lots of other benefits from fasting, which could be the focus.

If you are eating three meals, a day and snacks in between you can’t jump into intermittent fasting it won’t work…. Do it slowly…. I do 20/4 most days…. and sometime even after 20 hours I’m not hungry. I started doing this for prediabetes because I refuse to take medicine. He has great videos. I wish more people would take his advice.

I used to eat from the minute I woke up at 6AM until I went to be at 10PM. I thought that was a natural thing until I read about it resulting in the body always processing food. I went to fasting until 11:30AM and instantly lost 20 lbs of weight. I do get a little hungry, but feel incredible and have no lack of energy as I also work out in the morning. I did have some loose skin that has since gone away, thank goodness.
