Hello Nagesh,"Error 424 Object required" encounters only when you forgot to write the correct names of the control while coding. Suppose you add a textbox on the form and set its Name property txtroll then after that you are writing the code ,you are using that textbox name as text1.in that case VB will look for text1 but you have assigned the name for textbox is txtroll.Immedidately you will get the error 424 Object Required.because VB can't find the text1 as you assigned txtroll name to textbox. I would suggest you to please verify the name property of ADODC ,Textboxes etc while writing the code. Make sure that Name property of each control will be set according to your code.otherwise you will get this error "Object required" Hope you will find it useful.

You can use any format of access for database.but in this application i am using mdb format of access database. I would suggest you to use Save As option in Access and Select Access 2003 format for your database.

for Adding a new records into the database. Syntax: AdodcName.Recordset.Addnew AdodcName is Name of Adodc control that you had placed on the form for database connectivity as well as Database Operations like (ADD,DELETE UPDATE MODIFY SEARCH etc). in this app,Studentdb is the Name of ADODC Control.you can check the Name property of ADODC control. for more help: selfcomputerlearning.blogspot.in/2015/09/how-to-addupdatedelete-and-clear.html for adding adodc control onto your form,first you need to insert it into the toolbox. To do this, simply press Ctrl+T to open the components dialog box and select Microsoft ActiveX Data Control 6.Click the checkbox at the left side of it and apply and OK.Now ADODC control wll appear on the screen.you can drag it onto the form. +Luke Ruga field names of database must be written as it is in the code to avoid error mentioned by you. Adodc1.recordset.fields("Name of Database field")=name property of textbox.Text hope u resolve ur issues.

Please express your problem in detail..then i will be able to assist you..I must say one thing.....Check the spelling of control and database Table fields. Coding should be written according according to naming conventions..otherwise you get unexpected error in application...

I just wrote Adodc1.recordset.update and it works like a charm, but about in Add record, How do I clear the data then add a new one?

+Luke Ruga Ok,right.Now as per your query,you Just select the particular record by navigation button.Then Hit clear record button.All fields become blank.Now just enter new information in the fields and Hit update button. you can see ,your previous record has been replaced with new one..

+Daudur Rahman Please do the following steps for search facility After the step up of ADODC connection String Property . First Goto Recordsource ,Replace your AdCmdtable with now adcmdtext and write SELECT * FROM TableName Click OK. Secondly Add One TextBox and Command Button on to the form.Change the Name property of Textbox to 'txtsearch'. Double click on Command Button and write the code. Private Sub Command1_Click() Adodc1.RecordSource = "Select * from TableName where Rollno ='" + txtsearch.Text + "'" Adodc1.Refresh Adodc1.Caption = Adodc1.RecordSource End Sub Hopefully, it may help you... if any problem persists,please leave a comment
