Great interview but I am really disappointed at Stevens colorist views, no need to mention your Mom being African as if that equates to aggression, violence and abuse as opposed to your timid white Dad. Joe spoke about a white abusive Dad but didnt mention his race. People are people, unlearn your stereotypical and racist views, being mixed raced doesnt make your ideologies ok

Steve, you’re truly amazing I hope you find an amazing woman who loves you for who you are 🧡💜💛💙 Can I say, as an African, Nigerian woman, I promise we don’t all shout and bellow in order to be heard. Maybe your Mum did because as a child and in adulthood her voice wasn’t heard so she purposefully raised her voice so she could be heard. In the African culture women more commonly aren’t given the respect and ear. This is not a telling off 😊 It’s all too easy to share stereotypes that reinforce negatives of black women. Pls forgive your Mum and try not to reinforce the ‘aggressive black woman’ stereotype. We’ve been through so much trauma, we need to be cared for too so that we can heal. It’s important for people to recognise and empathise on why some negative behaviours amongst large cohorts of black women are common - generational trauma is killing us and societal bashing adds to our already painful life. Why is everyone else’s pain or trauma recognised, yet black women can be bashed and beaten and still be seen as the aggressor, or not be given any empathy as it’s recognised as being our fault regardless of context (black women even do it to each other). My ask; the level of thought, empathy and consideration given to people on the show, I ask that you pls also give to black women as a whole. Thank you 💕 Joe, you’re a beautiful soul 💕

@@lifehacks4the230 I agree, and maybe our host needs to talk about why he has that traumatic memory stored with that stereotype. It may or already affect his relationship with africoid women.
