Howdy y'all and welcome back 2620 family. I hope everyone had a great weekend and a happy easter. My week and weekend has been jammed packed, I want to start off by saying happy birthday to my eldest Aria and my youngest Isaiah.
This story resonates with me because of my own personal battle with alcohol addiction.
So I had a young lady reach out to me and asked if I could come by her property and cut the grass. She was explaining to me that her brother and his 3 kids were living here. he lost his job in the beginning of 2020 due to COVID-19, for one reason or another he was not able to find a job and eventually led to him not being able to manage his bills or life productively. The part that really hit me was in 2022 she was forced to take custody of his 3 children or CPS would have to step in due to alcohol abuse and child neglect, 3 months ago she made a tough to decision to put him out of the house that their parents had gifted them and checked him into rehab due to his personal life choices.

I appreciate that you opened up regarding your own struggles. I pray for your continued sobriety. As far as requests go, I would love to see when you are helping one of these people with their lawns (elderly or disabled) that have all sorts of items in their yard like non functional equipment, tires, ladders, etc, if you could get their input if the want them trashed or put away in sheds. I think it will help with beautification and future uptake of the yard. You do a wonderful job. So hardworking. Keep up the wonderful work! ❤

Happy birthday to your children. My Mom had the same addiction all her life. Terrible thing to have. She never wanted help. She lost family jobs and had only had a friend near the end Thank you for helping there. God bless GREAT JOB.

Good 👍 job. I want you to get more subscribers so I hope you will take my comment seriously and in the right light. Alt of viewers want to see a complete transformation and I feel that a few more bushes could have been trimmed and a. Cleaner fence line on the inside of the yard round the bottom of the fence. I’m very proud of you for admitting your addiction to alcohol and am glad you received support. It is very hard to overcome this problem and will only work when the addict truly wants to change, which you obviously did. Stay strong and keep your resolve. Life is shorter than you think and overcoming this and staying sober will improve your life immensely and bring you joy. God bless you !

Happy Birthday to Aria and Isaiah. My partner's brother died from his lifelong alcoholism going on 15 years ago. He had just turned 45. It's definitely not a way anyone should die, drowning on your own fluids, or bleeding out. Those are usually the two end results. Glad you over came yours DJ, depression is rough. I enjoy watching anything that pertains to yard work and landscaping.

I’m glad you’re in recovery for yourself and your children. Many children are without parents due to alcohol abuse. I was 2 1/2 when I asked my mom if my father was going to work or get drunk. She left that week, he was never part of our lives after that. I can only imagine he died a lonely old man. Thanks for sharing your story and all the work you do.

Almost to 10,000! 👏🏻 Happy Birthday to your kids!🎉🎉 I have a family member struggling with alcohol and 2 more that thinks they don’t have a problem. It’s such a struggle but the one who has finally admitted the problem is 11 weeks dry and he’s proud and feels good 🙏🏼 This was a big lot! A lot of trimming! I personally would cut that ugly bush down by fence and driveway and put it out by the road. Great job! - watching from Lake Wales, Florida

Happy Birthday to Aria and Isaiah. I am glad you are giving these people a re-start. The flu cycle hurt a lot of people in various ways. Depression from being unable to get a job is sad and can lead to unworkable coping. Alcoholism is also related to blood sugar troubles/excesses and so nutrition, with a lot more proteins and vegetables at the least, is vital. Alcohol itself acts like sugar and in quitting, people may transfer to candy, sugary drinks instead. Still at high risk for all kinds of trouble. That is a nice looking place. The parents tried to pass on a vital need, a home. Hope healing in general goes on for all involved. Can't remember the name of that thorny vine, but it does have a reputation for "being a monster" and develops (a bulb in) the ground. Nice result and renews the neighborhood as well. Best wishes in all your work and with your family. I had the idea that your (next) work might need to be "unusual", not "just" a yard, park, school, veteran, etc. Can you invite the man to work with you some when he gets done with rehab? Let him participate in creating progress out of "hopeless" situations? You might plant a seed. You have personal experience in life and recovery.
