In this heartwarming video, I stumbled upon a house so overgrown that I couldn't believe my eyes. Determined to make a difference, I parked my truck and went to knock on the door, only to find no answer. Leaving a Mow It Wells door hanger, I hoped the homeowner would reach out if they were interested in a free cleanup. As I walked back, a neighbor revealed the heartbreaking news that the lady who lived there had passed away the previous October. Despite her age of 100, she had managed to live by herself and tend to her beloved garden.
Moved by her story and noticing a City Violation tag, I decided to honor her memory by restoring the property to its former glory. Little did I know that it would take me five days to complete the transformation due to rain and a stomach virus. But the results were astonishing-the before and after pictures speak for themselves. You won't believe how different the house looks now!

Thank you Alex! I'm a full fledged gardener and at 65 I wonder if anyone will take care of my garden as I do when I'm gone. I've come to the realization that it shouldn't matter. What a fantastic transformation. It's obvious that someone planned out the garden and really loved spending time outdoors. That's the most astonishing difference,revealing all the paved ,seating and driveway areas. Alex, thank you for taking this yard on knowing that the home owner passed away, You made an enormous difference for all those around the neighborhood. The sad part of this story is that she has no family in the area to take care of her home. You for sure made her proud by what you made happen on her property! It looks neat now and I can only hope that her sister from CA can offer the home for sale in the near future so someone can go forward to maintain this home.

Alex, words cannot express how much I admire you, and your determination to help people. Dead or alive. I watched the videos of your cemetery work a while back. Such respect you show, and how deeply you care about people is beyond extraordinary. I had tears rolling down my face throughout this entire video. The fact that a woman passed away and nobody knows how to contact her family just breaks my heart. I used to have an elderly woman who lived next to me, and I had contact information for her sisters. I frequently spent time with her. Eventually she moved back to Indiana to be closer to them. This looked like such a lovely neighborhood, Too bad the people that live there aren't more like YOU. That home belongs to someone, and after 9 months, nobody has been able to find an heir? Too sad.

Yep, she is smiling from above. You returned every place she had to enjoy herself to perfection. The backyard at first looked like an enchanted garden. When you found the limb through the roof I thought you were going to whip out those black patches to seal the hole, my bad. It looks wonderful. Hopefully, the next owners will get someone to powerwash it.

Rest In Peace, Ma'am ❤️ It's sad that the house and garden can't tell us the stories of all they've seen, the changes made over the years and laughter heard. This is an amazing transformation that also shows you the amount of maintenance and upkeep needed when you have lots of trees on your property, and how the build up of composting leaves can so effectively reclaim hard surface ls like patios, driveways, even rooves to nature

You don't do anything in half measures and always give each property 110%. You bring a property back to how it was before it became overgrown. It gives viewers a chance to see the comfy little patio area where she probably relaxed or puttered around with her plants. Her backyard where she spent time with family and friends. I hope they can somehow contact her remaining family so the property can be sold to a family who will appreciate all this property has to offer.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING, Alex. I did not have a clue that second driveway was there. Amazing to see it grow as you kept moving along. Whoever was supposedly helping her in the yard really took advantage of her, I would say. This looks like a lot more than 9 months of neglect. It also looks like at least two days of work that you did. Now, if someone would follow you up with a pressure washer would be icing on the cake.

Ohh, this house is beautiful. All the details to the yard: the pavers, the planters, the steps... bit by bit, you uncovered a gem that was obviously once loved. I could picture a sweet little old lady out fussing in her yard with all her plants, and entertaining her garden club or ladies' social group on her back patio. The size of that branch you pulled from the roof SHOCKED me. I can only imagine the damage that caused. This is a great job. Loved the drone shots, too. It really put the scope of the job into good perspective. I hope someone is able to move into this home and make it alive again.

Alex at 69 it is all I can do at times just to keep up with all the mowing, weeding, trimming and planting to keep up with my own little sanctuary here on earth. I pray that if I should to be that lady’s age I can continue to keep up with it all because it gives me such pleasure to be in my own sanctuary.
