Worth noting that this watch is even better value in 2024 as it now has: - Signed crown - Engraved caseback - Blue antireflective coating on crystal - Better case polishing Wish SII would make a date version of the VH31 Quartz movement, as a sweep seconds quartz with date would make this watch unbeatable.
Got mine for $30, same style as yours. It's really great and the lume is pretty impressive, I switched the bracelet on mine with a jubilee from PD now it looks more expensive. For the price, you've gotta love it.
Old video. Much better finishing, fit and finish on black / black just delivered June 24’ for less $ then Steve paid 2 years ago. No disappointment. Definite ‘king’ of the bangers 🍻 cheers
I have owned one of these for almost 2 years and am still delighted with it. At less than £30 delivered it just cannot be beaten. I would prefer it to be dateless but, given the price, it is certainly the best sub on the market. To my eyes the polishing on my watch is faultless. Having time on my hands I recently decided to rebrush the strap to get rid of the polished centre links. I was encouraged by videos on youtube and was surprised at just how easy it was to get an excellent result. I would recommend this watch to everyone, especially if you can buy it in a sale.
I just got mine as the black version. I can say the bezel issue has been fixed. There is no "slop" any more. I don't care for bracelets, so I have black or olive Nato straps on all watches. Great watch.
There is no "cost cutting" going on here. I don't even think it's possible to build a sub homage using aliexpress parts for less than $50. Not even sure how these companies make money, but i'm glad that this watch exists. Watch collecting is very expensive and I do think this is Addiesdive worth every penny. Is this an excellent first watch? No. But, having a casio F91W+ this Addiesdive would make a killer sub $100 2 watch collection.
They use economies of scale, it definitely costs more than $50 to build a subbie homage but when you buying the parts in the thousands, the price per piece can go down, that being said , this watch definitely offers more features than the price suggests.
Offering a product that is incredibly underpriced is a classic sales technique much like a "entry drug." I mean you typically don't start with heroin but rather weed or prescription drugs. So rather than start with a Rolex or a top-tier 'Addiesdive' you can buy a nice, inexpensive watch that makes you want to venture deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. The Chinese own us. (And no, I don't partake in illegal substances, just watches).
Bought the blue one over the most recent sale for 32 bucks. Gotta say, for a watch that costs less than a dinner out, it’s amazing. I’d choose this over the more expensive invicta quartz pro diver. I have a duro, but it’s large on my 6.5 wrist, and top heavy. This has been my vacation watch.
My third review on this watch it’s currently going cheaper hence, I will buy it as a throw in with buy other superior models such as Pagani design.. I just subscribed to your channel.
Once again a nice and entertaining review. To my personal preferance it's too big for a beater and has no sapphire which I think would be great. I have seen someone filling it with oil though and doing some other moisture to it. ....Good fun watch...
May not be the best quartz (I guess VH31 equipped Escapement Time or Chameri takes the cake) but sure as hell the best quartz diver. If only Addiesdive had the foresight to put VH31 instead of Miyota 2115. They have the same dimension and compatibility.
I got mine today with Nato strap by the way the quality of the Nato is very very good, the bezel in the watch is perfect no loose at all,the lume is fantastic, conclusion the watch is awesome for 45 euro, nice review and keep up the good work
If only it was a VK! Even so it's still an absolute bargain. Love your content. Thanks!I would take a scotchbrite pad to it, seriously, to brush it. That or a fibreglass pen for doing this I had a nice sub homage that got micro scratches and brushed it and it was perfect after. Capton tape is ideal for masking it. Something else I do is I bought a preowned but not used miltat sub bracelet for 50 and I use it with Chinese subs. It's better than any Chinese one and having a quality bracelet for putting on them while I wear them improves the watch no end.
I love these watches, I have all their colour ways (all with the oyster bracelet) and think they are fantastic every day watches. I do however change the clasp for a milled one for an extra £5 but apart from that it's great. I've been lucky with the bezels with only one that is slightly off center so 3 good bezels out of 4 is good enough for me.
Never bothered changing the bracelet on mine because I never thought the extra money was worth it, but oddly enough I’ve probably gotten more compliments on this watch than many of my far more expensive ones. Go figure.
Hey Steve, Has anyone thought to put it to Addies Dive that they release this watch with the VH31 "4 ticks per second" quartz movement? It may push the price up a little, but I think that would make it a more attractive proposition.
I'm with you on that one, the modern sub cases don't look good on any straps 🤦♂️(apart from the oyster style and fitted rubber strap) Got tired and ended up filing the case on my watch
Hy is this best value for money than steeldive quartz, ( 99€)?? Or do you believe that i should go for the steeldive 1953 automatic 99€ , a bit to expensive compared to this, does it worth only for being automatic and a litle bit better specs??
I'd say it's on par. it's more wearable for sure. better lume, too. if you want to step it up a tad, look into the watchdives VH31 variant. they look awesome.
@@EscapeWheel It's been a while but I finally ordered one... not that I need another watch, but you sold me on another one! Summer vacation is coming up, after all.
Can't beat the price, and value. I really like my Duro but this one is just more appealing to me as a beater work watch. Grabbing it in black so I can have a wider range of strap choices.
Are you sure it has a saphire crystall? I am getting lots of greif on that!At the beginning of this review you say saphire, crystalnow you say mineral crystal!
I’m waiting on the Starbucks and it showed on aliexpress that it was signed on the caseback but that’s not the case with yours. I’ll be sending it back if mine isn’t.
Are You saying the Steeldive has a mineral crystal and the Addiesdive has Saphire crystal?I am listening now! You just changed from saying its a saphire crystal to saying its a mineral crystal!
@@davidcrandall4958 yep, sorry about that. I made a little correction but you might not have seen it. For stuff like that. It's best to go straight to the official crystal section where I test all my crystals on camera
I'd trust the duro more of you are actually going to dive with it...but other than that, this one is better. Finishing is even, this has ceramic and good bezel action (apparently improved now), better Lume, comes with a bracelet, and it's a more wearable size...the duro is BIG
@@syahrulk9294 I'd say Addiesdive. Duro has it on Quality control and that's about it. If you don't plan on actually diving with the watch, go with the Addiesdive
Well that's a shame. Sounds like a perfect opportunity to upgrade to an AR coated sapphire. They are cheap, the tools are cheap, and it's a simple process.
@@EscapeWheel ye I was thinking of doing that, would also be a nice opportunity to learn how to do it. Do you have any recommendations about where to buy one?

@@MagikFrogs I'd just get it off Ali. eBay is another option. Flat sapphire is cheap, the tools shouldn't be more than $15 either. You're probably in it for the cost of the watch, lol, but then you'll have the tools and experience to make the swap on any watch needing a facelift. My guess is that it's a 29 or 30 mm crystal. That's something you'll have to track down. Addiesdive should be able to tell you what it is. Diameter and thickness are important.
Does anyone who has this watch know of an oyster bracelet that looks good on it? I would appreciate it if you could send me the Aliexpress link so that I could buy a bracelet there that fits in this watch :)
@@EscapeWheel thanks man and one last question,i noticed that my watch after half an hour in the sun here in Greece the lume lasts for 3 to 5 minutes top if i put it in my drawer is this ok or not, thanks
@@kwstaspapazotos5441 seems worse than expected, but it's hard to gauge. Charge it up before bed and see what it looks like when your eyes are adjusted to the dark. Should last more than a few minutes
Yes to quartz, no to subs (of any kind 😜). The price may be good but if you don't have to go for a sub... sub, then no. Thanks for the review Steve, be well mate.
