AQUAPROS, I like the hygro pinnatifida. Is it easy to grow with out having a light on the tank and just using the natural sunlight that comes through the window? Is a 29 gallon tank big enough for it or too big?
Who's got seed shrimps?? Me me me😍🥰 And they are the best algae eaters in the world, believe me my tank was filled with green/blue spot, green hair, brown powder algae and I don't remember what else algae but I added few dwarf sag and the seed shrimps hitchhiked with it, guess what, they cleaned the tank within 10 days., they eat anything that can rot in water😝 I used to feed them the leftover powder of parrot(bird) pallets that my parrot didn't finish and my tank is also very heavily planted so I never had any ammonia spike issues, but tommorow I am gonna add rc shrimps to it so from last 3 days I have stopped feeding it those pallets and started with real fishfood pallets 😜 Guys I am really surprised that how no1 acknowledge the usefulness of these seed shrimps. Like literally my tank was beyond repair and they bought it back to life within 10 days, so how come no1 on youtube talks about these seed shrimps as a cleanup crew?? Is it because all fishes eat them or is it because they don't look good(for some people). I absolutely love them for what they did in my tank so I am willing to not put any fish in the tank that eats them, I am gonna get a single Betta after 4-5 months so that hopefully rcs will outnumber the hunger of betta and hopefully he ignores the seed shrimps.
I'm British but I live here in Singapore. I keep Boraras Brig and Boraras Mac. They live in a pond style aquarium on my balcony. Lots of leaf littér.They also live wild here. I feed microworm and baby brine...
Curious about how this turned out?! I had the idea last night of mixing the exact 2 species you have here! Not ´ ooking to breed the bleu dream, and, they have a pretty dense carpet and plants to hide in to give them a shot...but the red and blue against a planted green tank would look awesome!!!!
The video randomly popped in my feed today 5/25/21. Good timing, as I'm getting a group of chili rasboras tomorrow. They're also going into my blue dream shrimp tank. Hoping that they'll feed on the planaria on the walls of the tank.
Weird, my 15 Rasbora Maculatus hardly ever venture out of their comfort zone, being the 40% center zone. The top and bottom 30% of the tank is just empty.
Have you considered making any exotic crayfish tanks recently? I bought a specter white crayfish and absolutely adore it! Thanks for really getting me into aquascaping and other aquatics, it’s really become a great hobby.
Beautiful tank, but I'd have gone with kubotais, instead of the exclamation points. The red of the chilis, the green of the kubotais, and the blue of the shrimp would have been gorgeous together.
Just wanted to add that livestock is NEVER remedy for ANY problem in the aquarium. Remedy is always balance and care. Please be thoughtful while dealing with animals. Have a nice day. (Also I liked the video, I just wanted to combat that line of thinking)
I currently have a "problem" with copepods or other little tiny creatures, which are making it completely unnecessary for me to feed my glow light tetras. All day long they are ranging around looking for and finding snacks, it keeps them busy and they are eating better than ever. There seems to be a good balance between predators and prey LOL at the moment, I don't want the fish to eat themselves to death. My betta, on the other hand, is a little bit too big and slow to find or catch them, I'm going to have to find a bigger live food I can feed to him.
interesting... Luckily the copepods and other critters are probably fine to be binged on, super clean food source, easy to digest im sure. Im gonna be a total shill for myself and recommend some some LEGIT. Fish Food, Community blend. Betta should go for the bigger pellets and your Glo lights will love the smaller stuff, should help keep em full if your still worried about it. 😎 Good luck!
What fish can I use to eat ghost shrimp because I bought some and put them in all my tanks for food, and nothing is eating them surprisingly and I have ram cichlids /angelfish /Pea puffers and none of them seem to be eating any of them. Maybe the smaller ones but the shrimp that are about a inch and I am tired of having them in my tanks because bother my fish and eat some of the baby fish and eggs that I am trying to breed right now and I think ghost shrimp just look bad. if anybody has any tips, please let me know. Thank you.
I intend to keep a small group of 10-15 red cherry shrimp, 2 bamboo shrimp, 10-15 rasboras and 5-10 neon tetras alongside a bristlenose pleco and maybe some cories in my 200 gallon tank. I was wondering whether these would be compatible fish, obviously with a lot of java moss and other dense plants for the shrimp. Thanks.
AQUAPROS What co2 regulator do u recommend that i buy that will not do a co2 dump in my tank and Poison my shrimp and fish when the paint ball tank is low?
New to fresh water, was getting interested in doing some planted tanks, very inspiring. Just not sure about the co2 , how big of a tank do need for around a 20gal tank. And also is there any big differences in the regulators.? Thanks for any help you can give
i have guppies in my tank and some how i git pond snails and cant get rid of them...are there any fish i can put in there it eat the snails???or how can i get rid of them
very good question. Have you already find a solution for fish eating ostracods ? Copepods are easy to get rid of by adding fish, but ostracods are not....
I've got a lot of ostracods, if i put some rasboras would they eat them? I've tried feeding them to my bettas but that was a fail Sorry for my english :D greetings from México
no most fish eat copepods but not ostracods. I don't know any fish that eats ostracods, ... maybe a beta or killi fish, but not sure, and i even doubt it...
i think that putting a fish in an aquarium does not mean the ostracods are gone. I think they don't like being around fish, and they hide. I had a tank full of ostracods and corydoras, the astrocods where on the glass, i added active fish (barbs), and they did not eat the ostracods at all,... The ostracods were not happy with the activity of the fish in the same environment, so i think they just hide and are still active in your filtermaterial etc. I will find out when i take my barbs out after some time. I read that, even if the ostracod is eaten (which i don't think most fish do), the eggs of astrocods even can survive through the feaces of fish... another thing : when the ostracod is dead, the eggs still can hatch. Difficult bug to get rid off, in my opinion.
he was talking about copepods, not ostracods i think. Copepods are easy to get rid off.. You mention ostracods on the glass ?? You might have limpets and not ostracods, because ostracods swim around and limpets stay on the glass. Ostracods are very difficult to get rid of... I'm still searching for a fish i can use to eat them, but no solution yet.
did you see them eat the copapods........none of my fish seem innterested....angels,calvus and neolamps......none seem to eay them and they have traveled to all my tanks
got those copapods in all my tanks........can't get rid of them.....please let us know how you make out......they multiply soooooooo fast......ruining the fun for me
THE PAIN TRAIN2020 ohh u should read up quick if it's arriving today. The babies can be kept fresh n then transitioned to brackish. It's important not to go from brackish to fresh as the ion exchange over the gills have changed. But they're a lovely puffer to keep. So check if the place ur getting it from is brackish. Snails n other lil crustaceans can be fed. If ur not in any hurry I'd wait a while longer n read up on all the different puffers out there n find one that's best suited to u.
