Thanks for the design tips. I picked up books from my local library sale this morning - 3 books for $1.50. They look interesting and have beautiful color on the spines. I’ve been taking my time redecorating because I do want to curate pieces and refuse to waste money on what I know would be temporary decor. I love your ideas.

IMO heirlooms should be at the top of the list. Even silly or fun memories of family brings me joy. I love to say that the mirror over the fireplace-which isn’t quite the right size so needs a bit of styling to make it work- was my great-grandmother’s, and the figurines woven into my dishes in the china cabinet were my grandmother’s. Whenever I have family over, they all get transported back to my grandparents’s house.
