I'm liking these layering stencils more everyday. I am not the greatest colorer so this is wonderful. Cathy, the card is beautiful. Don't ever doubt yourself. This is why you share your craft because you are good at what you do.
I am not a fan of big flower stamp images. I have them, but don't use them. There is so much to color, especially when using copic markers for shading. But this, this is how to create waves of colors on flower images! This clean and simple card looks so good. Look forward to your next card sesh 👉 #trueblue
Beautiful flowers, great job layering the stencils. You need to get a Brutus Monroe Sticky Mat, you will use less tape. I know I can instantly like your video by looking at the project, you are an amazing card maker. You give me such inspiration. Thank you. 🥰
The impression running through my brain as I watched this: Stamped flowers, sleeping quietly on paper, newborn and without adornment Cathy, softly blending, explaining, often whispering, as she gently colors them Flowers, waking in happy wonder at their brand new beauty
Thank you for that tip to use the T-square to get the sentiment lined up. Never saw this before, never thought of it. Great idea. Love this card and watching it come together.
Just thought you should know -- I do the slash hand gesture with you. Beautiful card, Slash! You need to craft with a top hat (Guns-n-Roses reference).
Hi Cathy. I love layering stencils. The end results are always so pretty. I actually love coloring flowers with markers or/and pencils. But it is great to have options. Crafters Companion has great layering stencils. This is a unique system where one stamps first. Another thing to do is a few highlights with a white gel pen in the center of the flower and maybe on the edges of the petals. It adds a pretty touch.
You’re good at coloring. I mean, sheeesh, humility is a beautiful trait, but, self deprecation is not allowed. Lol. Are my degrees showing? Haha! I so rarely get to use the things I learned in college. Lol
Love this card! When I get my tax refund, I’m buying more supplies to be able to do this type of card making. I’m not good with the alcohol markers yet. 😊❤️🇨🇦
Cathy, I maybe looking at this wrong, and it’s more than likely, but if you are die cutting the flowers, you could omit step one of the stencil colouring?😉
Tina, yes you could. However I wanted to preserve that really thin white border that the die creates when it cuts. That's the only reason I didn't just blend right over it with the lightest color
I detest coloring! And I’ve been avoiding new stamps that require it. I’ll definitely have to purchase a stamp set that has the coordinating stencils and give this technique a whirl! Thank you for a simple tutorial and a lovely card!
Hi Cathy. What a beautiful card. I enjoy all your videos and tips. Iwas wondering since you were die cutting the images out is it okay to just blend over the images on the first layer without using the stencil? Then using the stencils after for layering the rest. Just wondering if this would work.
Hello, I hope you will see this and be able to answer please. I am in the process of getting the pawsitively saturated ink trios. I don't see a purple trio, but have looked up the purple colors. There are currently 7. Are there 3 specific ones you recommend? I don't need 7. I am looking for the same color gradient like the other trios. Thanks in advance 😁💕
Hey Jena, we currently do not have a true purple trio yet. The closest is the one with Bubblegum, Sweets and Taffy. But… those are more pinky purple. There are more colors coming and so if you can hold tight please do.
So, is it basically just using the biggest stencil for the lightest color, the size down a bit darker, and so on? These are so hard for my brain to comprehend since chemo. I usually don’t even try the layered stamps and stencils. I’ve bought quite a few of them, but never use them. I know I’m a chicken. Lol
I just made my first Sympathy card last night...how I wish I had one already made ready for sending. Not a fun card to make when you have to send one out. One of my sisters just lost her husband of 53 years.
Really love the layering stencils. But all 3 of this set is very expensive. Will have to wait for a coupon or a big sale. This set is beautiful. On my wish list. Love watching you. I’m not very good at coloring. This looks like it makes it easier. Thanks for this video….
