Continuing my show/movie soundtrack kick, I decided to try another theme by composer Ramin Djawadi (who also composed Game of Thrones intro). It's especially challenging to compose drum parts to music that was never intended to have drums, especially "rock" drums! With instruments like piano and strings, there is a lot of push and pull in the timing, and you have to constantly eb and flow with the music. I try to approach my drum kit like a piano in this setting; making melodies and being as sensitive and as dynamic as possible.
