“As far as my placement? I really don’t know. I really don’t have a clue, and so we’ll figure that out as we go along. If there’s a hole there’s gonna be a plant there.” The gardener’s motto.😊

In addition to figuring out as I go, I know that every time I buy another flowering bush ( hydrangea ) as I did today, I have to enlarge my garden!🤣❤️🌸🇨🇦

my kind of garden. if you can see the soil, whatever was there didn't come back so plant something else there. I have learned that hibiscus doesn't break until June so I have plant tags that give the name and note "not dead yet."

Even after you pruned the Baptisia & Amsonia they are bigger than what they will grow here in Sweden. 😵‍💫 Absolutely hilarius to see you whack them with the hedge trimmer compared to when I go in with my snippers and carefully cut a stem at a time 😂 Love to see how much is similar and how much is different between your place and mine here in Sweden! 👌😘

Good morning, Jenny ☕️ I never even thought of cutting back my Baptisia. I do cut the seed pods but you clearly whacked it back! Good to know. The Cottage Garden looks beautiful. Appears you have a small downed tree up by the chicken coop. Looks like a small Birch maybe? I’m thinking 🤔 how could I use that…? Have a Blessed Day😊🐶

@GardeningwithCreekside 3 месяца назад
I was just like you until I read an article in a gardening magazine & it surprised me! Both the amsonia & baptisia respond so well to being pruned. Yes, the tree you are seeing is leftover damage from the storm that caused the flooding in May. We had 6 large pine trees toppled near the chicken coop.
