Adding rats to Minecraft was a great idea with no foreseeable repercussions... 

This was the best custom mob I've ever seen until the rats started dancing. Then it became even better

It's completely balanced you see. Equal input to output ratio. You murder a village and breed 2 rats into 50, and then you can kill the wither, simple as that.

Honestly the rats munching on food instead of bringing it to you is the kind of life and personality pets NEED in this game. Cats and wolves have always felt like useless decoration, so having aesthetic things like that is just...beautiful

Now the only thing I can think of is pairing this with the create mod to make a massive auto farm, conveyor the food into a Rat Pit, and using the love staff to summon an ungodly number of rats.

Finally, a mod that makes a “summoner” class viable.

i can imagine giving 100 rats strength potions, putting them in pouches, and ordering them to kill the ender dragon

imagine being just a pair of normal cows, eating grass, and then a swarm of rats swarm you and force you to breed.

Me and my friends got this mod a few months ago on a whim, and honestly it was the best mod we've ever put into a survival game. We paired it with a mod that would make random mobs be elite and have a bunch of different effects (invisibility, speed, strikes lightning at whatever it attacks, sets things on fire, etc etc and in combination with each other) and apparently it made the RATS SPAWN WITH THESE EFFECTS and it was total chaos. Rats that smite zombies, rats that get hit by another rat's AOE attacks and the decent into absolute rat war, getting caught in the crossfire of the rat war and now you're just meat in the blender. It was so glorious.

Person: *accidentally drops potion of nausea* Rats: Bottoms up!

So dangerous allays on the ground with game reference *Perfect*

Now that I know the capabilities of rats, I will now need to brew a lot of strength 2 splash potions. Attacks that do atleast 6 damage which ignore invincibility frames. A splash potion can get all of the rats to have strength 2 at once, then put them in a rat pouch. Unleash it apon your enemies.

I do think that the Rats should be able to harvest wood, given that they are able to chew through much harder materials.

The depth and quality of this mod is outstanding, my longing for rat army grows.

Imagine tossing 20 strength, speed, regen, and resistance potions in a pit full of rats and the bagging them up. I think Techno would like that.

You should add a staff that makes them all sit, so that it isnt as annoying to make them stay still

I saw this in my recommended. and this was way out from what I expected. by far the best animal/creature mod I've seen. rat kid made it better too, love that smug dance

I liked that, it could be a minecraft update if the "magic staffs" were removed, the damage of rats was reduced and what if only specific types of rats attacked cats, what caught my attention the most was their ability to pick up items, what makes them basically a fox but better, essentially they play the role of the mob that won this year's vote (Allay) but unlike Allay the rats make much more sense in the game. Another point is that since rats are likely to have low hp it makes sense for them to be more resistant to falling damage it would be interesting also if they had hostile behavior towards silverfish, plus it would be interesting if rats were not affected by the webs of spiders since they are very small. It would also be interesting if, like cave spiders, rats had a small chance of poisoning you or giving you the weak effect when attacking you since in the wild they are exposed to various diseases, to represent this they could drop rotten potatoes or other rotten foods, which would make them useful not only as pets but also as a source of potion ingredients as rats could also drop ingredients like sugar, eggs, flour, etc. Another point is that there could be a small chance of spawning a rat by breaking a bookcase as in the middle ages rats were well known for chewing books. In fact, as not everything about rats is possible, they could act as pests, poisoning animals to models and destroying crops, this justifies adding a hunting villager who would sell mousetraps, an item that would work by putting an item on it and the mob that was attracted by catching the item you would be trapped in the trap, the trap would do enough damage to kill rats but could end up catching other mobs like cows if you put wheat in the trap. this would be useful to catch rare mobs. I enjoy the nice touch of rats not killing tamed cats, I found it out while playing the mod and I was pleasantly suprised! I saw rats chasing my cat and I was scared but I realized once I accidentally made it sit that the rats weren't hurting it, 10/10 mod

I really like the rats and all of their different uses. my favorite part was the name tag easter eggs. but I would suggest to add the jeb_ name tag, which makes them change color, just like with the sheep. other than that, the mod was fantastic!!

Bro I don’t do mods (mostly because I play on exclusively laptops but also because I would have no idea where to start) But THIS looks EPIC! Especially most animal mods I find to be pushing the aesthetic of Minecraft design but this is something else! I saw the thumb nail and thought there were going to be some new additions to 1.19 for a moment. Once I finally get a legit set up this will be a mod I play with regularly! This is too fun!

Your mod was proper rats. The RATS! mod is mice. You can tell because, like in real life, yours are blunt-nosed, whereas theirs are sharp-nosed! I'm not joking, that is a major way to tell the difference between tiny rats and large mice.
