I made new unique tridents for Minecraft 1.17 

I love the idea of someone with no weapons being challenged to a battle and they just chuckle, click their fingers, and an armada of tridents comes rocketing towards them

That Elder Guardian trident is using the same logic as the Keese Eyeball arrows in Tears of the Kingdom and I'm all for it.

Here's an idea I've had for a while: basically, if you throw a loyalty (let's say 4) trident, there is a slot in your inventory reserved for the trident. Not only does this guarantee that it ends up in the right slot, it also stops other items from filling your inventory, which would prevent you from getting your trident back. The reserved "trident slot" would have the outline of a trident in that slot, similar to how smithing tables have the outline of netherite ingots, to show that the trident will come back to that slot. You could probably even relocate or throw out that reserved slot if you want to. Of course, it wouldn't actually drop as an item, it'll just make the trident stop coming back to you.

For the pitchfork instead of iron bars use one ingot and two nuggets that would fit more in my opinion. But something like a spear made of bamboo and flint would be cool for an early game trident esc weapon

I want a ricochet on the elder trident, so if there’s another mob within like 10 blocks of it, it’ll ricochet and grab it too

god, i love these videos. they're so well designed! all your items and concepts capture minecraft flavour so well, and they're also perfect additions to the game. one thing i felt was a missed opportunity- the hellfork is supposed to have increased utility in the nether. fire riptide, impaling damaging fire resistant mobs... but what if channeling created a ghast fireball? like summoned one from a distance that is travelling towards the target upon impact. maybe it literally just explodes? the other thing i have is the atlan seems a bit overpowered for what you put in. maybe instead of allowing sword enchants (though that is so damn cool,,,,) it removes the cap on enchantment intensity? like you just can put on infinite levels of loyalty to make it return faster and faster, *but* ridiculous levels just have exponentially higher exp costs.

Imagine if there was an enchantment that just allows the trident to circle around you like Mjolnir at the start of Thor Ragnarok

The riptide on that hellfork allowing you to fly while on fire reminded me of that old removed attribute on the BASE jumper from TF2 that allowed you to hover while on fire.

I've got an idea for the item at the end First I'd make it an enchantment but only for the Atlantis Trident Second I'd make it so the longer you hold the trident whilst fully charged the more tridents that you have in your inventory will be launched with the Atlantis one when you finally throw it - a bit like the multi shot enchantment Third I'd probably add a limit of maybe 5 additional tridents (so total 6), or maybe 2 additional (total 3) that can be thrown at once? I don't know play testing would have to tell you what's right there ---- I feel like having it be yet another item only clogs up your inventory more, functions as a trident gun and it also takes away the feeling of using a trident Which this suggestion would solve those problems whilst still allowing you to yeet multiple tridents in one go at a target if you are willing to wait that time to charge it

this also gives more use for the smithing table besides for netherite, i like it!

Idea for alternative maelstrom item: while held in hand/offhand, all loyal tridents will circle around the player, similar to how tridents circle when the players inventory is full, creating a literal maelstrom with enough tridents. While circling, they will damage anything they hit. You could even give each trident a special ability similar to what they normally have, for example, the elder trident could home in on enemies who get too close. Additionally, you can right click for a power attack, throwing all tridents currently in the maelstrom. Riptide tridents will propel you the same way they normally would when thrown with a power attack. Of course, this would have a long cooldown to make it a bit more balanced. Putting away the maelstrom item will make all tridents return to the inventory.

Maybe allow players to upgrade a Pitchfork to a Trident? Make it in a Smithing table with Sea Laterns, the crystals make the tips and the prismarine makes the handle.

id love if the loyalty ench rotated around the character and does damage to mobs (i know you can kind do this with commands but still)

Fun fact: In bedrock edition, impale already deals extra damage to any mob in water or getting rained on.

Imagine putting riptide 100 via commands, I gotta try that, also these are so well made

Interesting concept. I haven't actually played minecraft recently enough to have used a trident myself, but I like the idea of them becoming a new category of weapon with a late game emphasis

I think you could balance the maelstrom by making it take all the tridents from your inventory and have them swirl around, so the more tridents you have the more range it gets because each trident is flying in a separate ring, also it should probably make every Trident complete a circle in like 2 seconds so you actually hit stuff. I don't know how to make mods so this could probably be almost impossible to implement 🤷‍♂️

Amazing, tridents are one of my fauvorite weapons and i always try to get my mobility trident the faster i can but now we can actually use them as a better weapon!

loyalty 4 sounds like a lag mashine, imagine 50 tridents moving 20000 blocks at the same time

The "Maelstorm"'s function can be changed into an [artifact] that can be equiped either from equiping it in the (head) slot from [curios], or from putting it in your offhand. Once the "maelstorm" is equiped, it will summon tridents from your inventory that has "loyalty 4" hovering wherever in the player ((it can be hovering on the top of the players shoulder, or head)). The summoned tridents can be shot by pressing a keybind ((like 'T' or 'X'))

Okay so I have an idea on how to make the maelstorm you need copper in a upside down leggings form elder eye in the middle and heart of the sea on top And to make it cooler it could have an ability if you hold down right-click and shift for 3 seconds,it would throw all the tridents in different directions and all of them have aim assist via the elder eye

Here’s an idea: insulating gloves that if you have them equipped in your offhand or something you would be immune to burn while holding a heated hellfork

Channeling two could be cool, it would summon lightning when using a trident like a melee weapon and when you are in water (or fire with the hellfork)

I feel like the pitchfork still dealing 9 damage is too powerful, especially as an early game weapon.

I watched this many months ago, and coming back to it I am still just as impressed by the mod as I was when I first watched it.

This is by far one of the coolest mods to Minecraft so props to you I wish Mojang made the combat snapshots have new weapons and features.

idea: spider trident when shot at enemys will take poisin damage does less damage to spiders and witches more to players/villagers. Idea2: vamp's fork: when shot at any mob other than bats will give them poisin small chance kind of like zombifying a villager will turn entity into bats. spider trident crafted with spider leg wich is new drop aand vamps fork by rare bat drop tooth

I love how the pitchfork is casually the best weapon in the game arguably. It’s ungodlyly cheap, has around the same durability as an iron axe but has the same atk damage, but faster attack speed, is also a projectile

Tridents are my favorite in Minecraft. I find it cool it can be melee and ranged, it can also be a support with riptide.

about the atlan it remembers me when tridents came out i played a bit with them in creative. once i applied every single minecraft enchantement on it even those who are not supposed to be able to coexist. the last enchant costed aroun 21 000 exp

better as the datapack as I am using, it simply allows fire aspect on a tridents when you throw it. I will see if it works together. the elder triden is better as the boomerang mod. a cool idea to combat the efficiency issue with the maelstrom is since its made with copper you could have it oxidize the more you use it until its fully oxidized to where with efficiency its as fast as its non oxidized and enchanted.
