In this video, Mike Brooks demonstrates one of his favorite ways to add detail to a longrifle. This simple technique uses a round gouge and punch to add a traditional floral to the stock. This carving is attributed to the early Moravian American longrifle builders of colonial America, and can be seen on many rifles through the revolution.
