Adding Simple, Eclectic Tabs To My Journal

I thought I would film my process of adding some junky tabs to my journal. These tabs are specifically for aesthetics and fun! I like the way that it looks and feels to have things overhang the pages- and this is a really simple and fast way to add some tabs.

IT TOOK ME FOREVER TO FIND THIS VIDEO and I am delighted. I do not have, or want, a die-cut machine and so many people use them for tabs and tags. I wanted to see some creative alternatives. Thank you so much.

Johanna, you are a magic girl! I am not a fan of having tabs/bookmarks on the journal. I just don't see tabs look nice. But your video totally changed my mind! Your decoration on the tabs is absolutely creative and beautiful. Will def try it! Thank you!!😙😙

love ur journals!!!... how many papers do u generally use in each signature?... does the middle of the signatures start to puch out when u fold it...if so, do u leave it like that or trim them?... thank you!

Cara Brandon i can't really remember! I started out giving them as gifts and slowly started selling locally and then on etsy. They used to take months to sell online and now they seem to go quite fast but to be fair the quality and style has grown a lot since I started! Such a fun journey! X

Nice ideas for eclectic tabs. I love the saved box--have a few of those myself from various teas I love (saw the Irish Breakfast bag you turned into a pocket, which was also cool).

So when you say you wrote things everywhere but in the three signitures you took out. Does that mean you do not use the book from beginning to end? Do you just go through the book and use the page you feel like? This is so interesting to me because it would mean there are actually no rules!

Marianne Rady exactly! I don't typically use my junk journals chronologically.. i just pick a page that works with what I want to do inside 😊

Juliana Beasley Hi Juliana, this book is approx 6.5" x 9.5", the cover details are gold embossed 😊 this is my personal journal so i put anything and everything I feel like but it is often about my kids xx

hi Johanna. First I wanna say that I love to watch your videos. You make beautiful things! Do you think about the colors you wanna use with each other? Or do you just grab some eyelets, buttons and left over scrap paper and putt it in your book without thinking of the colors or patterns are going together? Can't wait for the next video. Lets Cappuccino I sort of just grabbed things I liked! I didn't really match them together which is why I think it feels really 'eclectic' and random 😊 I chose colours and patterns that make me happy and hoped they worked together X
