If I recall correctky the FJ had a Sand beige color from the factory. I don't know ehat model year it ws though. A dark mettalic green wit a white top would be pretty slick as well. Keep up the great vieos, looking forward to the next one.

Austin, I so appreciate your pragmatic build this time.. I love your other builds, but this will possibly be more relatable for me and maybe others.

ICT billet makes spacers to run ls3 type water pump and you are able to use truck accessories and that truck balancer if your going that route. Recommend getting new GM Knock sensors and there the wire harness that plugs into them. LOOKs good.

Anytime we're doing sandblasting and if we worried about saying getting into the motor when I did aircraft parts we use baking soda in the blaster that way if there's any left behind once moisture hit it they just dissolve

I’m building a house and got the electrician to put an oven plug in the garage so I can powder coat and cerekote. Very excited.

You should paint it one of the non-metallic colors like a lot of the newer vehicles are coming with. My favorite is the cement grey from Toyota.

what media ya using in yer cabinet , I got a big mod U blast industrial cabinet looks similar to yours and use glass media at 90 psi but yours seems to clean faster .

What media and what pressure were you using to blast those parts?

Save yourself some aggravation, put a stock cam back in it. That engine will have more than enough power for that FJ. Second the rear main seal cover just buy a new AC Delco one, they come complete with the seals already installed.

Man I hope you paint the car that gray too! Why not powder coat the tranny and engine mounts? Is ceramide stronger than powder?

I know this will be a big argument! The bolts you are saying are a one time use only bolts are not. Have a friend that has over 70k miles on his and I’ve seen Metallurgy test done on used bolts (I been looking for the report but I can’t find it) It said that there’s no issues if not torqued over spec’s. Sloppy Mechanics reuses his with all kinds of boost! I’m not going to get in a tit for tat about this sorry…. Your $ do as you please!
