It was the first of its kind so excusable here’s a fun fact for you because you clearly don’t know voice acting in games was a new thing until about mid 90s when more games started to include it such star fox 64 and crash bandicoot.
It was from 1979 actually, it was the first 16 bit machine but bits aren't really the most important metric anyways as the colecovision and later the NES and master system looked far superior to intellivision games still neat
I think the voice actually sounds so sick. Would be a great fit for a goofy but incredibly powerful robotic villain. It's kind of like the Robot Head guy from Invincible.

This is the era that I use as a weapon whenever I see someone with an NES shirt that says “Old school gamer”. They have NO clue of the old school and if they did, they’d appreciate the “new school” a lot more.
Yeah, but being a 12 year old in ‘82, I was the coolest kid on the block! The opening screen for Space Spartans saying “Hello Commander, computer reporting” is my Windows launch sound. Never gets old. 😎
Wrong but ok, the console COULD make the sounds the only issue was to get a good sample you’d need a lot more ram and cart space than was available, so instead of making it harder on the console, the extension worked as a separate ram counter, allowing the cartridge to fully use its entire chip and therefore play the sounds from the sample too.
