Yes these dolls are great for some elderly people that have Alzheimer's and similar disorders, it does give them back that mothering feeling. I think it's a wonderful thing.

Thank you so much for this video. I have purchased two babies recently from two different artists and both of the babies were basically empty. They didnt have weighting inside anything and very little fluff. I guess they do that to keep shipping down. What I dont understand is why do they do that when we pay shipping. While the paint was good, the weighting was awful. All 5 of my real babies weighed 9 and 10 pounds at birth. I prefer a heavy newborn and I let this be known but they still weight a baby very poorly. I have had to learn to do this myself so thank you for doing this video. It has taught me how to weight correctly. Your tutorials are always very informative and easy to understand and follow. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

How heavy would you personally want to make a 'Sugar' kit, by Donna Rubert? She's quite a chubba and I'm wondering if she's going to be too light (I am a collector, not a reborner)

@suzzieg70 - I use the tiny glass beads i the limbs and the larger in the body and head. I use glass beads so they can be sent anywhere in the world without hassles.

@jakesmyworld - You can use poly pellets or glass beads. Both are available on my website.

So can you use the same tie that is in them or do you have to get another one?

I have polly by Rachel Maynard his a custom made one of my baby I lost but his gone extremely floppy I've never done this before and can't find no one to put more filler in him he weighs 6lb 12oz I'm happy with the weight but he needs more stuffing any tips would be appreciated

Sound like you ordered UN-brushed mohair. If you wanted BRUSHED Mohair then you should have order straight or wavy brushed mohair. That way it would have already been brushed out and conditioned, and the work is already done for you... there is a difference in price for a reason. Hope this helps :)

Personally, I think these would be good for the elderly. It would give them something to cuddle they relate to (parenting). If it gives people comfort why not. And yes, they are also collectors items. Cute as hell. I have one coming and can't wait. I may walk around the house carrying it. Do I care what people think? LOL

your brilliant at making your reborns I brought a reborn and the stitching was done poorly the head arms and legs dont rotate when I received him he was put in a box and in a plastic bag I was so annoyed with how I got him but now that I have been watching your videos I am going to fix him up so he is more like a reborn thank you so much xoxox

Do you also weight the sockets of 3/4 limb dolls? I am currently working on one for my daughter I have all her limbs and body weighted but not sure if I should weight the sockets to support the legs and and arms

@stillmomentsnursery Is it better to use glass or plastic beads? I am doing my very first baby and almost ready to weight him but I want to make sure I use the right stuff so he will last forever. I am giving him to my daughter on her 16th birthday. Anyways, is there a difference is how the two types feel or weigh? Also, I am from the states and can't seem to find the tiny glass beads..Is there something else that I could use for the limbs that will be the same?
