@@austinaschhif we’re talking just rollouts donda clears ye and its not particularly close imo. donda had one of the best rollouts to an album ive ever seen
@@hmmmmmmm1222 I had two grandparents pass away within a month, and 24 was on loop for weeks. The part of Ye saying “We’re gonna be ok” was what kept me going.
9:13 I LOVE how you’re reacting to the original Donda as opposed to Donda (Deluxe). I do however recommend listening to just the exclusive songs in the deluxe version AFTER listening to the original Donda. There’s some good ones.
One reason the album was overhated was that the fans just wanted Yandhi and alot of the Yandhi tracks were scrapped or changed to be more religious. Chakras became Selah The Storm became Everything We Need Law of Attraction became Use this Gospel. All of these have near finished leaked versions on RU-vid if you want to hear the Yandhi versions. At the end of the day, even though I think Yandhi would've been better, I think the backlash may have had a small hand in him slowly losing his faith.
Donda tracklist is complicated but the guy who said listen to standard + LOTP is kinda correct it's complicated because some songs like Keep My Spirit Alive pt 2 (with great KayCyy hook that got replaced by Ye vocals), Jesus Lord pt 2 (with great Lox verses) and also Remote Control pt 2 (with Cudi) were basically the "basic" versions of the tracks played during listening parties but then got cut during "updates" for some reason and re-released on the deluxe so base tracklist with these 3 replaced and also LOTP is the way to go lmao I personally have this album in my local files with uncensored edit done by some Kanye's community members because official explicit edit doesn't exist and also with little bit alternated tracklist 😅
100% this, original tracklist is just way more cohesive in every way, but also lotp is maybe the best song on the album so definitely shouldnt be left out
THANK YOU BOB I CAN WATCH YOU AGAIN NOW THAT YOURE BACK LISTENING TO YE! IVE MISSED YOU OG 🖤 also, Vultures 1 and 2 get more hate than they ever should. They're beautiful albums that have if even 1 or 2 skips through out both. People just can't accept change until it hits them 5 years later, just like with every Ye album.
The only reson to be disappointed with JIK would be that its kinda responsible for no Yandhi because that would have been one of the best kanye records.
Please listen to the original Donda tracklist and avoid the Deluxe at any cost, they really fucked up the whole album tracklisting on Deluxe. But you gotta listen to Life of the party, Never abandon your family, up from the ashes separately
3:30 this part really hits home for me, I loved Ye so much, ever since the KIDSEEGHOSTS and Ye days and even a lil bit until now, he was the one who changed my life for the better and now hes kinda down in a pitfall that I dont see him getting out anytime soon, its crazy that someone like me who doesnt believe in a god, get touched in a spiritual way from JIK
In fairness to Kanye fans, Jesus is King is only over hated because his last album before this was Kids See Ghosts. It felt like a step back at the time, but given his recent releases, it feels and sounds a lot better than its initial release.
no its not even cuz of that. its cuz jik was orignally yandhi and yandhi without a doubt wouldve been top 3 kanye. especially with all the leaks we've heard until today. it was just a massive downgrade, prolly the craziest in music history
i think the normal donda tracklist is great, the part twos can also be very great, i would just listen to all the extra tracks on the deluxe as well; however life of the party is truly the stand out. the biggest thing about donda is mostly performance art, i think without the memories of the listening parties (the whole world was looking at ye because of his antics and the state of the world at the time) it doesn't really have the same effect. the build up from the first listening party to the third is really insane in terms of set design, they are pretty important to the album.
Listen to regular Donda album, but skip pt2 cause they are not that relevant after listening to the original ones. After that listen to Life of the party, Up from the ashes and Never abandon your family, they are deluxe songs but very much so connected to the whole theme and sound of the album.
Hey Bob, please in your donda reaction could I add that you listen to Never Abandon Your Family. This song is ONLY on the deluxe and is a complete original song from the first listening party, it was just added way later. This song is pretty charged with his past and now current family situation. I personally have it ranked high on the tracklist since his performance of it is somber and insightful to a lot.
He would be missing out on a song like never abandon your family though, which is essential in my opinion to the theme, and also to what’s going on in his life now
@@franlymatias6942well damn I guess Donda (OG), life of the party, then bonus tracks from the deluxe to finish lol. I actually forgot about those beautiful bonus tracks.
Bob, your videos are making the internet alive. About kanye and hitler, the psychology behind was 'love everybody'. Not to justify, but to outline what's behind some of his actions. And kanye needs a kanye. I wonder if fans can actually do something to reach out, and 'pay the guy back'. That'd be an amazing interaction. He said in one of his interviews 'we leave no one out'
Yo Bob, you should listen to Donda with the original tracklist (listen to keep my spirit alive pt2, junya pt2 and remote control pt2 as they are the superior versions) + Never Abandon Your Family and LOTP
Jesus is King is good, but a lot of hate from this album came from the scrapped album Yandhi. That album had crazy potential to be one of his best but he decided to change the theme of Yandhi and went with JIK.
I'm beyond excited for Donda. I also personally really enjoy Vultures 1 and 2. I think the key is to accept the point and time Ye is at in life and the struggles he's gone through (many identified in Donda) and accept that he's going through shit and he just doesn't care anymore, at least at the time of this comment. I think he's grieving his marriage with Kim, and the death of one of his best friends Virgil Abloh, while he feels his free speech is being attacked as he'll talk for hours and a sound bite (often) taken out of context circulates the internet and makes his self-image look worse and worse creating a cycle of paparazzi following his every move which is understandably even more aggravating. I think in 10 years (like most Ye projects) we will see Vultures from a more objective point of view where we look at the music as being great for what he was actually going through. While the Vultures projects aren't polished by any means, I think it reflects his mindset over the past couple of years. The pure honesty (whether you like it or not) is very upfront, which in my opinion reflects his mind wanting to focus on his truths over the sonic and narrative perfection of the album. I think a lot of people (including yourself as you've spoke of before JIK) have difficulty objectively listening to the music without thinking of the controversy and that always ruins a first listen for Ye albums in my opinion (that's why they "get better in 10 years" with time when the subjectivity of his personal decisions has decreased).
I think you should listen to white tiger by 2hollis, hes opening for ken carsons tour right now and hes bringing a bew and unique sound to hiphop, edm, electronic, and rock influence
Even as someone who is firmly not religious, I think this is a pretty great album. It’s not Kanye’s strongest by any means, but I think it’s a cool little time capsule for where Kanye’s head was at around the time of this release.
Hello Bob, when we getting another nba youngboy reaction? From the two you did you seemed to enjoy the albums so I'd recommend Colors or The Last Slimeto
Nah you need to listen to some of the part 2s like for example junya pt 2 is better than the original junya and there's others like remote control pt 2 adds Cudi to the song, Jail pt 2 has a great verse from DaBaby, Jesus Lord pt 2 adds more great verses from The LOX and Keep My Spirit Alive pt 2 isn't really necessary it only changes Ye as the chorus to KayCyy but its still a nice lil change. Anyways I hope you read this because I would love to see you react to some of the Part 2s. 😄
the thing is a chunk of the album is watered down yandhi leftovers so the album felt really lazy and slapped together for some of us. and then then closed on sunday lol
You should listen to some of the Sunday service choir sessions, they are amazing. The Jesus is King movie has also been uploaded on YT and it’s quite good even without IMAX
One interesting thing is how religious he was at this time and since this he has only gotten less, recently he was talking about why people should not believe god will help them
Never abandon your family, up from the ashes, and life of the party need to be reacted to, and that’s why the deluxe it’s important, but I do agree that you can skip the part 2s.
@@jmcleda8138 I just meant in the context of being a Kanye completionist. Totally agree there’s lots of other albums to do. *But* if he’s gonna do Kanye’s whole discography, I think CS is a part of that even if it’s not billed as a Kanye album, per se
Vultures 2 might be a comeback of Kanye coming back to the Lord, only God knows what will happen. God bless you and your wife. Watching you listening to Jesus is King was my first video of you watching and this album made me cry. And I also watched your back-story and its very interesting that you kind of the same story as Kanye. God willing that you may return to The Lord and The Lord only. Shalom🙏
Can't wait for your Donda reaction! In my opinion Vultures 1 and especially 2 isn't worth listening to. But I can recommend delving into the unreleased Yandhi, Kanye unfortunately never released it but it's been leaked and can be found on RU-vid
i would listen to jail pt 2, that's just me though, there's a great verse on there that isn't on part 1, but i would agree that the original donda album would be a better listen than the deluxe
This is my personal donda track list which includes the deluxe tracks 1. Donda Chant 2. Jail 3. Heaven and Hell 4. God Breathed 5. Hurricane 6. Moon 7. Believe What I Say 8. Pure Souls 9. Life of the Party 10. Never Abandon Your Family 11. Donda 12. Keep My Spirit Alive 13. 24 14. Lord I Need You 15. Praise God 16. Off The Grid 17. Junya 18. New Again 19. Remote Control 20. Up From The Ashes 21. Jonah 22. Jesus Lord 23. Come to Life 24. No Child Left Behind
Donda was released clean on all streaming services but explicit version of tracks were played at concert and leaked. A great mixer and Kanye fan created a explicit version of Donda with the curse words uncensored, I think you should listen to it instead of the release version in my opinion.
It being censored doesn’t ruin it all and that’s the way it was released and intended to be heard, kanye changed the album to be clean after North questioned why it had to be explicit.
talking about Ye getting close to escaping and then getting pulled back into the black hole is telling for why his Donda album cover is just black. Ye is super self aware sometimes.
