from reading his lyrics, that's exactly what I got. Granted though, he's fairly new when it comes to the discipleship portion of Christianity so I'll let it be since he will only describe what he experience in the way he knows how. My issue is how much alot of the protestant church idolize him for it, and I can't say that Kanye is blind to that nor have capitalized on that. Alot of the opportunities presented isn't because he believes in God and push to make it known, its more so that he already have such a status that its easier that he can have that following, both with worldly and christian people

NightFire well i think part of it is one of those things where he just has to prove it with his actions. If he backslides and makes a rather secular album at any point in the future then it’s going to make 2019 seem disingenuous. For every Jesus Walks, he’s got however many more songs talking about bitches...so to some people’s eyes, yeah this seems like an abrupt shift *to them.* ...That said, I don’t know of a single Christian that believes that anyone is beyond redemption.

It stems from his series of outbursts over the years. A lot of people think people that don’t like him only because of his statements about Trump, but it started long before then. Incidents like him taking the mic from Taylor Swift while she was accepting her first ever Grammy, effectively saying on live TV that she’d didn’t deserve to win. Or him spending nearly 30 minutes straight at one of his concerts, ranting about some of the problems he was going through despite people being there for the music. Those are a couple i can think of, but the Trump situation simply added to an already growing list of reasons/incidents why people’s annoyance with Kanye the person was increasingly getting in the way of Kanye the music. Should they learn how separate the two? Sure, but humans be like that sometimes. Granted, this isnt like the old days where image was everything if you wanted a successful music career, but the truth is that no matter how good your music is, there are some people that won’t wanna fuck with it if they are annoyed by you as a person. The more annoyed, the more the sound of your voice becomes associated with all the things they don’t like about you as a person. And Kanye falls into that category even more because he’s had moments where he seemed annoyed, angry even, that some people didn’t see him as a genius...so these people that already don’t like him are now put in a position where they don’t want to feed his ego by listening to his music. I’ve always said that he’d have more millions more fans if he was more reclusive. Not saying that he never speak his mind, just not fight so hard in thinking that everyone in the world should bow to him. A truly confident person doesn’t need to demand that people agree - there are plenty of great artists that allow their music to speak for itself. Kanye, on the other hand, would sometimes act like anyone that didn’t see his greatness was just being a hater...which ironically would make some people not like him even more. On some level tho, I think he’s calmed down tremendously, because I think now even he knows that his catalog speaks for itself and the numbers don’t lie. He still wants the whole world to think he’s a genius but i think he’s both increasingly convinced that they do as well as just gaining some peace through maturity.
