I bought this bike based on this video. The front suspension (even when tightened) will not support a heavy rider. I am 300 lbs, and it immediately bottoms out. I can lock it out , but then what's the point of the suspension? The gears are made for going slow, and it will run out of room (free spin) after 17 mph. This bike is definitely made for a smaller rider that plans to throttle more than pedal. Even though the design looks similar to a radrunner plus, it's a miniature version. My wife (5' tall and 130 lbs) felt the bike was a good size for her compared to the rad mini ST 2 and the Juiced Ripracer.
Wow, this bike is a contender! I've been researching the ~$2k cargo ebike segment recently for my own use as a beach town bike for vacation. Park the car at the house, use bicycle that will easily run food errands and full beach gear duty so that I don't have to wait in car lines and hunt around for car parking. Besides being the cheapest in the segment, it seems to do it with a 750W motor, decent looks and the best solutions to keeping a low center of gravity along with smooth ride. AND hydraulic disc brakes?!? And front suspension?!?
Hahah yeah it’s pretty awesome!! All these components are great, I would say the suspension is lower end but I think the fatter tires help keep everything comfortable
I'm 5' 11", my wife is 5' 7", and my daughter is now 5'3" (and growing). I really wish this bike covered my whole family....and it might, but I wish the gave an inseam length as one of the measurements.
I'm super interested in this model in particular. Could I ask a few specific questions? 1. Does it seem to be a bike that will have a long lifespan / serviceability? I know a lot of ebikes are very proprietary, so are the components on this universal enough to allow for a long life? 2. Is there a 2 person bench seat available for 2 kids? I know Rad Power Bikes offers a lexan wheel guard and running boards to keep little feet from getting caught in the spokes. I'm curious if Addmotor offers something similar. 3. Are the electrical components UL certified? Thanks so much for this video! It's nice to get a video from someone who knows bikes well.
Thank you!! Here are some answers to the best of my knowledge: 1) many of the components do seem universal, ofcourse the tech parts like the battery / screen / motor will likely have to go through the Addmotor company if you need a replacement. I’d say the components are good though relative to other e bikes at this price range. 2) I don’t believe addmotor offers this themselves, but I feel like an aftermarket option could fit on this bike since it has a standard cargo bike rear rack. 3) The electric components are indeed UL certified!
I like it! I do however wish it had mag wheels, at least on the back wheel. I'm tired of messing with loose and broken spokes which is an ongoing maintenance issue. Mag wheels are a huge plus. The FIIDO T1 is not as long, but it has the mags. .
I think I would personally get the 2022 and if the 2023 is much better than just sell your 2022 and upgrade. People want bikes these days so it wouldn’t be difficult to get rid of it, and either way if Trek does release 2023 marlins soon they probably would be hard to get soon
How tall you? I know the bike is recommended for riders up to 5' 9" and I am 5' 10". I am wondering if it would still be comfortable for me to ride, being taller than the recommended height.
I purchased an M-81 6 weeks ago and love it. I am 6ft and don't have any issues with fit or comfort. The longest ride I have done has been thirty miles no issues with comfort on that ride.
Yeah I think a lot of them just make one frame size to save money, and since the average population isn’t as tall they just want to get the most out of the one bike
Hmm I think that may be pushing it unfortunately, the bike does seem to be on the smaller side so you may have trouble hitting your needs on the bike or not being able to straighten your legs enough
@@TalalipopMTB You could test a few riding styles. 1 use throttle only 2 use pas3 or pas4 3 use pas1 (I'd consider this optional because we already know it's gonna be around 80.)
