In this video, I address the topic of sexual purity with my wife Kathy Vallotton and the Directors of ‪@MoralRevolutionInc‬, Cole and Caitlin Zick. This past weekend, we uploaded an old teaching that I shared with School of Worship students from 2014 to my RU-vid channel. Someone who I do not know created a short, 57-second video using select soundbites from that teaching, and posted the clip on social media. Understandably, anyone who saw that short video would be confused as the full context was completely missing. My team took down the original video from RU-vid so that we could review it. We felt led to further address the topic of sexual purity and bring clarity to this teaching, as well as address some of the concerns and feedback we received. In this video, you’ll find a conversation and clarification I wanted to share with you.
This is a complicated topic that I am extremely passionate about! My heart is to bring freedom to people and break shame off of the topic of sexuality. I have been teaching about healthy sexuality for decades - and wrote the book and founded the organization Moral Revolution to help bring clarity and promote God’s original design for sexuality.

@@sylviahouse4391 Please listen to him talk about it in this video, and get to know him as a person before you go all judgmental on the internet. He has all his life dedicated himself to empower women, has a beautiful heart with no agenda and has probably more respect for women than you, no offence. Ive never seen a man with so incredibly honest and raw where he lays everything on the table and if theres one thing Kris carries its absolute 100% respect for women. He's a very humble guy who always admits if he's made a mistake and he wouldnt hesitate to apologize. If you refuse to listen to his explanation of this issue in this video or get to know his heart, thats on you.

If you even knew the guy 10% , you would know his heart and ministry and you wouldnt be so judgmental, just because it looks bad. I dont know this issue, can very well be he made a mistake. @@zacharyjohnston70 I honestly say you havent, by only visiting for few weeks sorry - and listening to buncha teachings. Im not here to judge you or anything, but have you heard about the idea of reading the bible endlessly, yet not exactly grasping it or knowing the heart/intent of the word written in it ? Some people (im not saying you) can read the bible endlessly and think they got some truth down. Maybe you're doing the same with Kris, just because you listened a bunch, doesnt mean you know his intent and heart matter and have the right to judge his integrity. Jesus did not appoint you to do that at all, even if you might think so.

To all the young ladies out there who may have seen this: your worth is NOT in your virginity. Real friends/family will love and care for you even if you have sex. If someone doesn't love you after you aren't a virgin then they never loved you in the first place, they loved what you had to offer.

@@patjohnston1644 its such a great church. So much revival, i hope you experience being drunk in the spirit sometimes :D God wants you to drink of his love everyday. You're gonna need it before you sail. Btw i know you feel like you need to answer every single opportunity of everything here, but remember that God is not asking you to. He also created the hymen and every single function of your body, so he can heal it too. If you feel shame about these things, it has nothing to do with God.

the fact that you mentioned hymens… that is completely out of line. private, and a lot of times has nothing to do with virginity. that is SO ridiculous and inappropriate. like who are you to say that? look you can’t restore that, and if that was so, Christ restores not virginity but He restores us by forgiving of our every sin NOT just sexual, and making us new, not physically but spiritually. you saying “she was my most promiscuous girl” - saying “remember there’s always someone with a better body than yours” Jesus would NEVER speak like this. this is guilting, shaming and they way you are using your words sounds like you need to check your heart and maybe gauge your eyes out… saying “promiscuous girl” that sounds like someone needs to really watch you and how you view girls. seriously?? a pastor. i wouldn’t trust you as a leader in the church, not with that language & message. - this isn’t how Christ shows His grace & mercy & love. if it’s really not a big deal- repost the video then.

it wasn't Kris who originally talked about hymens it was the girl who had lost her virginity 19:12 of the video he wanted God to restore her heart and purity then years later she opened up to him and talked about how God also restored her hymens. God is the healer and restorer of everything, he is above every battle and sickness on earth so why wouldn't he be able to restore her virginity as well? both spiritually, and physically.

You just dont know em, if a woman came up to you, believing that God the creator of everything, including hymen, healed her hymen and she says that to you, while making you feel embarassed to hear, because thats what he said he felt while she told him that.. But random Tom who doesnt know the person addressed thinks its a creep show, oh ok. Why remove the video though? I see that you wanted to clarify here but it’s lacking transparency to take down what you clearly stood behind and posted yourself on your channel. An easy and transparent way to not have us hear & believe the TikTok version is to let us see your very own unedited video. However, that’s been taken down… Strange.

I wanted to see the full one and believe the best of him, like that maybe some of the Tiktok ones were out of context but… yeah, how they took it down makes me unsettled. And this video only continues to perpetuate the negatives of purity culture. I think his heart is in the right place but he was clearly raised within that purity culture and has not put in the work to structure his sentences to support the victim or research and share truth medically and biblically

You're "addressing" a sermon, but took the video of the sermon in question down? Would it help if you put the video back up, just for reference? So we can all see how these terrible tiktokers are just twisting your words?

Leaving it up would just cause more controversy. There are so many people online that love to get offended and will gladly believe anything that makes Kris look bad. It's prudent to take down an unauthorized re-production (which is technically illegal) that selectively edits the sermon to make Kris look like he was sharing a different message.

@@brianbeeson ah yes. It wasn't the preaching controversial topics from the pulpit, or posting those topics in a public forum that was causing controversy. It's actually the act of leaving the original sermon online for others to see, comment on, or get offended by, that is the true problem. How dare those snowflakes try to slander Kris' good name? Don't they know that Kris has personally received hundreds, maybe thousands, of emails from his own congregation about god performing the miracle of hymen restoration for these poor wayward wretches. Everyone everywhere should rejoice in hearing about "purity."

@@t00l0fsatan From a certain perspective, any Christian pastor that preaches their beliefs is controversial. Jesus was killed for his teaching, so were most of his first disciples. I agree with you, but it seems like this controversy is that someone twisted what Kris said. The fact that he's taking the time to upload this video to clarify his position is being responsible. Especially if this video better articulates what he believes than the 2014 sermon. Have you met and talked to any other these people you are calling wayward wretches? You obviously want to criticize him as well. What is it about his message or beliefs that you don't like?

It’s a sad experience to be a kid and realize you don’t have virginity when you start learning the Bible. I felt shame as a kid like there’s no going back that other people get to enjoy marriage. I wish the Church would teach hope to the kids who have been sexualized by media and early sexual experiences.

As a parent to young children, who has totally messed up in this area, I would love to hear more sound, biblical teaching on sex so I can help my kids better than I was. I hope this puts a little bug in your ear. There are, I'm sure, tons of parents out there from varying upbringing who need help in helping to navigate this subject with our kids.

What if you know God wants you to be celibate till marriage but you feel like you’ll never find a man who actually wants to marry you. How do you control yourself? I once met someone who is still a virgin. I thought ‘is this my husband???’ Needless to say we don’t talk anymore and I don’t think he has any interest in me at all. It was so wonderful to hear the guy in the video say that he waited till marriage. I want a husband like that but I know I don’t deserve it and to even have hope for marriage makes my whole body hurt coz I can’t see it ever happening and I really don’t know what to do anymore. I’m going to be 35. I pray God takes this desire from me because I don’t know why but it’s ruining my life to hope for marriage.

If you can tell that God is not interested in a hymen, then you will most likely know how He views you. I indicated that I have often heard that a hymen has been restored by God, not only in one or two, but in several women. Your question about whether there is a bisar ritual where pastors check this tells me more about you than about Kris. What you're accusing Kris of, I don't know, and it's none of my business. I think Kris is a nice man, honest and nice to listen to, and to learn a lot from. Furthermore, my Bible says that you have to be careful to judge some people.

And ofcourse, to the men that broke them in a horrible way… is absolute sin. What would you like to hear from Kris about the men that break them?

@@patjohnston1644 I understand… It must have felt like betrayal when your mom didn’t believe you! Very painful… I believe from your perspective, you must feel like, why is everybody standing up for the men and why all the focus on the women. Jesus was standing up for the woman who was raped and almost being stoned to death… where was the men she committed adultery with? He was just as sinful. Maybe you can find some relief in the video’s from Dan Mohler - he has some serious topics on ‘some’ men (not all men!) which behavings are not always right - in marriage also. The list in the bible (im not sure where in the NT its at) is big for men who can’t control themselves. Little for women to submit to her husband. Ehm… I’m not saying women are better than men… they’re equal. And I also think that Kris Vallotton is not hitting on women and their hymens to be restored - certainly not after rape. The hymen is not a big deal for men, but I think for God is…. Because it’s symbol for the blood covenant. And you can make a new covenant with your spouse after it’s restored. I don’t think Kris’ intention is to pick on women. Let me know what you think! :)

@@patjohnston1644 I read you’ve had very bad experience with ruling men and some church leaders! How awfull… I’m so sorry. I understand your passion for standing up for women and girls. I understand the discussion about the hymen makes you having bad associations. I do think tho we’re not obligated to have our hymen intact or having a purity test where men are telling us what to do with our vaginas. I see it more like, giving the golden ring and authority back to whom it has been stolen. It’s not like Kris is preaching to have your hymen intact and testing your purity. More like, what I said, God is giving girls/women back what has been stolen from them. I understand, looking trough the filter of your past experiences - the hymen conversation is not going well with you. In this interview with Kris, he shared with us an experience he had with younger guys, who would grab a girl’s boobs… he certainly did not approved that! I agree with you, the church needs more education about healthy sexual relationships. How to treat women and men. Equally. It’s hard to let anger go… certainly when children/daughters are involved in it.

@@patjohnston1644 yaaa in some cases we agree and in some we don’t. But it’s nice to have a descent conversation :). I’m always open for correction, if the Holy Spirit convinces me… it’s all so personal and difficult sometimes. The first thing after becoming a Christian (baptized in 2019) - I was shocked about all the discussions and finger pointing after each other. I was like woah… I only remembered the loving way God was calling me to do somethings in other ways… He was not harsh at all… Just showing me how He saw some cases, which convinced me immediately. What I’m saying is, the leading of The Holy Spirit is so personal… individual… we like to put a ‘formula’ on cases… but what do we know?? When I became a christian, and discovered all the different church colors/opinions/movements/doctrines ehhh ya, In response, I clung to the Bible and holy spirit to guide me.
