This is the best theme song of my childhood. If your goal was "If you hear it from the other room, you should want to run into the room and watch it" You deffinatly achieved it! Because I have a very clear memory of my brother channel surfing in the tv room while I was in the kitchen, and hearing the "du nuh nuh nunuh nuh nu." and yelling "WAIT! I WANNA WATCH. Go back!" and setting down whatever I was doing and just sliding into the room and planting myself onto the floor infront of the tv in "my spot."

The Danny Phantom theme song is honestly one of the best TV show theme songs of all time, love it! As far as the controversy, I've always known it was "young" not "yo", and this is actually the first time I've heard that other people misheard it.

You could do major spin offs of your old shows. Bring them all back. Danny Phantom's kids, Timmy Turner all grown up, or maybe just in the same universe etc. People loved when Samurai Jack came back, I'm sure people would love new episodes of old shows.

Never knew this was a thing, I'd always heard 'young', didn't realize other people heard 'yo'.

For me, the confusion has always been that in the song itself, it definitely sounds like a long O, (ergo, "yo") so I think the issue is more that the singer's diction isn't as clear as it could be.

On Novkelodeon it sounded like "yo" it wasn't very clear (they may have sped up the song bc of commercials) but I am rewatching it on Paramount+ and they say "young" it's as clear as day.

Wow. Mind blown. When I was a senior in high school (class of '13) I did a dramatic reading of the Danny Phantom theme song for a school talent show/open mic night type event and received a standing ovation. Mr. Hartman, if you're reading this I just want you to know that your show and its theme song played such an important role in my childhood and in my general high school experience. It's really cool to hear you break down the creative process that went into it as well. Thank you so much for everything you've done for me, the rest of my generation, and for the world of animation!

Was really thinking this was a video about that kid who went on murder spree before killing himself trying to "go ghost". He was obsessed with DP and made a lot of his own drawings for it as well. He committed suicide thinking he'd join the characters. It was a really bad situation. I wonder if Butch has heard of that yet?

I had the HUGEST crush on Danny when I was a kid. My dad could be flipping through channels in the living room and I could be coming downstairs and I’d hear the base. I could sometimes hear him quietly curse as I ran into the room to watch it. He liked Danny Phantom too, but I watched it religiously
