Hi sir, I just want to ask you a question. Maybe you remember me from your channel. I had written that we have a Mazak variaxis i600 with smooth x control. I make the programs via Mastercam since I can import my vices, zero points and other fixtures as well as the tool holders so that I can see if a collision will occur or not. Could you please let me know if this also possible via Mazatrol programming? We have collision checking option on the machine but as well as I know it is only possible only with the Mazatrol programs. Therefore, programming with Mazatrol is better to aviod collision. However, everything, geometry of the vise, fixture and tool holders, should be defined perfectly. Could you please advise if I am right?

Steve, I am having trouble with the 3D assist not allowing me to select edges. Any idea whats going on here?

@@aspeaerospaceprecisionenging it seems it really has to do with how the model is prepped. I find sometimes that just importing the step file back into cad and saving it again will work. I still have issues sometimes but it has got better. Again usually the issue is with how the part was modeled on CAD.

@@abarrick09 yes this is how we do it, just resave it as a step file in our cam software and it works most of the time,

When you create a turned profile, does 3d assist create the profile at the maximum material. i.e. will it recognise the additional profile requirement at the angled flat in your example. Thanks
