Love adeem's battles and I've seen this scribble tape more times than I can count, but over the years I have come to the conclusion that Sage won this battle. He defeated himself by not only sending the mic back to adeem but also by making choking sounds at the end of his second set which was actually way better than adeem's second set.
WORDNUGZ they also cut Sages last round short, by a couple seconds. Those couple of seconds, especially at the end and for the finals is crucial. The DJ fucked up what we could have potentially seen. That said, Sage at this time was a veteran, he could have easily pushed through. It is what it is. They were good friends anyhow.
When I first watched this video a few years ago, I thought ADeeM destroyed Sage. But like you said, over the years of watching this video, now I realize that Sage actually won.
i feel like this is like Arsonal vs Illmaculate where illmac got drunk and was just unprepared. If you catch sage's battles with slug and brother ali here in 01 they're just messing with each other. in the first i feel like sage was just playing with adeem but then adeem got serious and sage was like OH SHIT and went in on the second, but it was too little too late.
Round 2 they gave Adeem from 1:18-1:55 that is 37 seconds of instrumental. They gave Sage 2:02-2:37 that is 35 seconds of instrumental. WTF, that 2 seconds more is a lot when your in the zone, with an instrumental that get's cut short. Wack!
haha my comment got voted down for saying it's lame Adeem uses prewrittens not to mention he's a geek that tries to rap like hes gangster. Accept the truth....
"He tried to finish my line but he didn't knmow it, this kid's a pseudo scientist/poet" Best line in this battle. Easily. God damn it Adeem, why are you so good? I wanted Sage to win so bad.
Adeem would have lost if this were 1999. Both Adeem and Eyedea lost in the 2000 Scribble Jams which Sage Francis won. Sage Francis also won the 1999 Super Bowl MC Battle in Boston (where I believe he was at his prime). This was one of, the very last Sage Francis battles here against Adeem.
yeah his technique/flow is amazing, and you can tell he has some inspiration for the verses, but he didn't slice Sage in half like Sage did with one line. Sage won IMMEDIATELY after that and didn't have to say anything else lol.
because it's true, it resonates deep both for the audience AND Adeem lol. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gt5nwaAGc8g.html well he sounds as thirsty as I can get sometimes so I think it was, as he said 'that's true it's not funny' lol it kind of is. Personally, better to laugh than cry about that haha..
eh, maybe he does in freestyles, but if you've ever listened to any of Glue's albums, it's as far away from gangster rap as you can get. Freestyles are all about disses, but it doesn't showcase the true artist.
My "Gemini" the Google version of chat gpt told me the two best rappers in New Hampshire were adeem and eyenine I can't believe I haven't heard of you before and you battled sage, Mac, and some other big names That's crazy.
I like Sage, but I don't understand how anyone can realistically say he won. Adeem beat him here. Simple. But all the Sage Francis fanboys won't accept that, they all have excuses" "Adeem is probably trying harder,Sage was too relaxed,he didn't try hard enough. " "...but that's only because Sage wasn't relaxed..." "thats the only reason why i think sage lost because the crowd felt like sage had just called them crack heads or whatever. i think that switched the crowds focus quickly"
@SchiThug2CE do some research and you'll find some. look up his sick mixtapes...sickly business, sick of waiting, sick of waiting tables, sick of waging war, still sick urine trouble. hes got so many good mixtapes if you do some research. and personal journals is an awesome album.
@ynot420x not sure if it was written or not .. the first verse may have been since it was so tight.. maybe he was just hot. however as sage pointed out in his rebuttle adeem rarely finished his rhymes when battling so i reckon sage should have taken it
Sage definitely didn't expect adeem to go 100% but idk why he didn't. It's for thousands of dollars in front of thousands of fans. I just wish the full brackets were on RU-vid from 2001.
why are people saying he writes his battle rhymes? that would make no sense how would he know who he battles scribble jam is usually off the head cause they can never predicate who exactly there going to battle
k there both ill as fuck but come kids he barely beat sage and sage wasnt even trying. Overall sage absolutely womps on Adeem, If you think Different...Well....I feel sorry for you
Adeem is awful. Absolutely awful. The fact that he won Scribble Jam once...no, TWICE...is the biggest disgrace in battle rap history. He shouldn't be able to make it out of the pre-lims.
that kid is fast.. but he int the fastest.. check skibadee man, his stuff is dnb but its all fast freestyles and it always sounds perfect.. only if u like the fast stuff tho
this is a freestyle BATTLE not anything else. The rythem and flow is second to punchlines, which he doesnt have . Oh yea its pretty easy to flow when none of your words rhyme
Let me break this down. Sage has a pretty decent start. Talking about his DJ, which is also his own- funny. He drops the "problem finishing your lines" bit which is obviously true. And off the top of his head, the no sex in a year joke. Adeem comes, full on misses a rhyme. Then he rides the beat with an OBVIOUSLY written verse. He does the same shit in the next delivery. Sage comes back and COMPLETELY flips his style. The pseudo-scientist/poet bit is on point. Winner: CLEARLY SAGE.
man.. is it just me, or does adeem in this video look like the psycho robot on futurama..??? 'GOTTA PRACTICE MY STAAABBIN REDD!!!' lol tell me im wrong.
Adeem took the championship in this scribble jam, he destroyed Mac Lethal in the final round. I was there. Sage, obviously did not make it past this round.
Nah, if he pre wrote everything it would all rhyme which was a big criticism of Adeems freestyles. He makes up for not rhyming with fucking irreplaceable flow
Actually, in the beginning you could tell Sage seemed to be running a little bit weak. Both of them seemed a bit weak, though. Something was off. They still both did pretty well.
It's so hard to catch good battles though, and I'm sure at the park they aren't timed and under pressure for winning 10,000 dollars and all that shit. So yeah, with all that stuff gone, you can focus more on your flow without all the distractions. You can't discredit Scribble though, it does have some good highlights from some great artists.
Yeah I pointed this out a year or two ago, but everyone got butthurt and downvoted me for it. Sage even reacts to his shitty prewritten and that alone is a win in my books.
he makes it sound like he's flowing with his delivery even when his lines don't really rhyme. makes dope music, though. GLUE & Sage are both sickMCeez.
