another one that has his own sound, instantly recognizable. I wish he had his guitar for this one. It sounded pretty good, had a bit of excess energy, used it on the bridge, coming off the mic stand. Glad he made it through.

I’m not going to lie. I was worried about him doing this song. I actually like the spin he put on it. Almost country, almost old school country. It was quite nice. Good job!

At first I thought this was not a good song choice for Tristan. But although it was not the best vocal of this song, I found it very emotional because the lyrics pretty much tells his story as we know it. I got it in the end.

I think this was a smart song choice for a country singer. The song lends itself well to a country treatment. But it also highlights that Adele’s music is composed, obviously, for her voice and she makes it sound effortless. She doesn’t SOUND like a diva in a lot of ways. Yes, her voice is big and she smashes those belts out of the park. But she doesn’t have all the trills and flourishes that Whitney had, or Mariah, Celine, Christina etc. have in their repertoire. Adele is very understated. But just try and take on one of her songs and make it sound anything nearly as good and you’ll quickly discover there is a lot more complexity to her vocal choices than a casual listen would have you believe. It’s the layers of textures, the agility, the play of light and powerful that Adele brings to her singing that makes them so rich. Her songs will leave you sweating and wanting to lay down and amazed that she does them back to back night after night.

Sheesh people….i actually think he was a bit unsettled at the start because the song IS so close to home for him. Yes not his best singing at first but once he got the mic off the stand he settled in and sounded great for the rest. AND this was the only performance of the night that made me bawl my eyes out. Each time I’ve watched it. If you’ve ever known or worked with kids that have gone through hardships you’d be feeling it too as he belted out “I was still a child!!” He is clearly a star!!! Nothing to prove…it’s clear as day!!!

The young man is incredible, but I don't get participants are made to sing songs out of their genre to prove they can sing anything?

I liked Triston’s previous performances. Hate to be that person, but idk how he got into the Top 5 after this one. He got a bit pitchy in the beginning, and because he did this in the same key Adele recorded it, his voice was low in the chorus…well basically 90% of the song 🤔 I thought McKenna was gonna get the spot instead of Triston after this

This song was the wrong choice. He wasnt strong enough. Pitchy in some places. If he doesnt win AI, its ok, he has a good story and someone will pick him up.

he was so off key mostly half step in places , i wonder if he did not remember to sing the lower key and thought of adele's version.

This was a very bad song choice for him honestly. He just doesn't have the vocals/range for the song. This song is vocally demanding and requires lots of big notes and runs. This was a big trainwreck from Triston. I would have sent him home over McKenna based on performance wise in both rounds.

This kid is great he needs to do glen Campbell gentle on my mind or Wichita Lineman no three chord EEAAB bowl crap I’m sick of all that crap kicking three chord progression that I like beautiful stuff like Glenn Campbell’s the man I’m not even a country I mean I like Dixie Chicks most of their songs not all cause some of them are those three-quarter progressions it all sounds the same to me and I can’t stand rap so I’m glad this kids go in the right Direction.
