Since some people seem to be incapable of actually watching a video before commenting, this is not a video complaining about adept being hard. I LITERALLY specifically outline that it isn't hard to get the 4k at 2:04 it's a video discussing how being strong armed into specifically getting 4 kills instead of 3 kills substantially reduces the enjoyment of going for the achievement for everyone involved by encouraging extremely unfun playstyles without increasing the difficulty of the achievement.
As an avid achievement hunter, I always hate achievements in online games due to various reasons (ranging from general unpredictability that comes from playing with real people to downright impossibility of playing a game in the future because of servers getting shut down), but I also can't ignore them because of my OCD. And I full heartedly agree with the title - adepts requiring me to not only stress out in a match where I'm forced to run only 3 perks (which in many cases are complete garbage), but also often slugging for 4k makes me feel like an asshole. While the previous iteration of these achievements (where it depended on the emblems) was not ideal either, particularly for instadown killers, you were at least able to get it even with 1 surv getting the hatch if you played the emblem system well.
I understand both sides of the opinion, but I in general am more against the idea of double pips being tied to completing it. Getting a double pip especially if you did it as the ranks went up has many flaws such as the chaser achievement allowing certain characters like Billy to not use their power, gate keeper being almost essentially on the survivors to affect, and malicious/devout which in theory is fine and if it was just around those 2 I can get behind, but with the gate keeper and at times chaser emblem it made a challenge where you tunnel one survivor, and made the other 3 absolutely suffer for as long as possible. Getting a 4K is still a bit scummy if you wanted to confirm you’d get it, but getting old adept was 10X more often leads to a very toxic play style
You either didn't play back then, or you have the rosiest of rose-tinted glasses, because there's a reason they changed it away from the emblem system.
The old method was horrible, as a person who 100% DBD’s achievements the old adept was bad. You had to worry if you played too good. Back then there was no dc bots so it was up to luck if the survivors felt petty and dc.
I usually get these achievements naturally. I always play with the 3 new perks until I get the achievement and then I allow myself to try out any perks combo.
Lets not forget that if you're slugging for the 4k and your slug bleeds out, that doesn't count towards the 4 kills and you lose out on the adept regardless
@@StefanHarpalete uh, no? The last survivor will often try to hide, and after you find and chase down the last one, the slug will often have crawled to a random corner of the map as well.
I remember when I got my trickster adept. I had two kills and just put a person on the hook who was now on the second hook stage. I quickly found the last survivor, who has never been hooked and downed them. And then I had to wait for the other person to die on hook, so the last survivor couldn't get the kobi into hatch. Which is literally what happened a few days earlier when I went for the huntress adept.
The ONLY killer I havent gotten adept with on the first try is the unknown, adept is meant to get the player familiar with the character and the new perks. Its by no means required, as an achievement hunter I really enjoy playing the new killer and going for the adept. I never slug people because you dont need to lol. If you HAVE to slug and hunt other players down to get 2 for 1 when you go for adept. its just a issue with skill, its supposed to teach you the killer and perks by having you improve and get a 4k, which is when the player is excelling in matches, as 2k's are the average
or maybe you're simply low mmr which is most likely true. It's really hard to get adept on high mmr because P100 survivors doesn't make rooms to any mistakes, and mostly of them are also in comms to give the killer even more disadvantage. Still, I got adept on my first Dracula match, my second match I went with an casual build and faced an P100 squad that forced me into Eyrie of Crows.
@@grimmtherapist prestige has nothing to do with skill and only is a factor of time, ive been playing DBD since freddy came out yet I have no killer at P100. While its certainly easier to get a 4k at low MMR Im not low MMR, just because I got my adept doesnt mean it came easy, they had done really well but made a few mistakes.
@@spectreplays7655 I'd say I'm on the higher side. I don't think I'm amazing or anything, I definitely have bad games. But I think I'm higher than the average player. If not higher than above average
@@samuelvoorhees3982 was just wondering cos I would also say the same thing but I completely disagree with u on the slugging part for the adept achievements which I have been going for since I came back to the game I have had to slug in almost all of them and this is because of the last person getting the hatch escape that isn’t a skill issue it’s a mechanical issue with the achievement
I gave this a try last night and got it on the first attempt, but I got lucky: one of the survivors DC'd after their first hook, and a second survivor was more interested in standing at the top of the farm equipment ready to loop as opposed to doing anything helpful for the team. I got it so the bot was one of the last two remaining and hooked the human player in the basement. The bot came pretty quickly to try and help him, and I just chased it into a corner of the map, took my time and eventually downed it. But I've definitely had my share of 2-person slugfests for a couple of the killers, especially a few of them that I didn't get the adept achievement right away.
honestly, in my opinion, you should get adept for killers based on your emblems (like achieving at least 3 iri 1 gold? or 2 iri 2 gold) or at least when you pass 2 pips. this would throw the killer to really focus their effort on their "mistakes" instead of merely taking 4k.
Ye, got the Adept in my second game. First game was to learn the killer, second to play serious. Even though i needed to slug for 30sec for the 4k. The nice Thing is that Drac git range attack, burst attack and Stealth, so he is strong enough to win without other perks
As someone that got each adept as they came up, I’m just thankful that they atleast made it less painful and I agree that the one change to make it just fine is to make it so that the hatch doesn’t count as a loss. I understand why people defend it, and I offer a new solution where in the menu, you can purposely select the ability to go to the highest or general good mmr to do the adept challenge with the change I said earlier. It will still be a struggle, and way harder for a lot of killers to some, but a killer with smart game sense can still have a solid chance of doing it like trapper
Personally when I do the Adept achievements, I just play regularly and if I happen to get merciless that is okay. I don't think I ever needed to go slugging and what not to get the 4k with any killer so far. And most killers takes 1-2 tries to get the adept. :/
I could not get an adept cause of hatch for like 5 games in a row. But in the last match there was a guy who was hiding for 10 mins on lerys. But fortunately this guy was a prick so he stood on a hatch waiting for me to come. And i closed the hatch as a bat.
It's almost like the entire video was about being strong armed into it for the adept achievement with gameplay in the background of doing the adept achievement
I agree with what you said in the video but you said you dont care if you dont get adept on 1st try , that you will rather get it normal way than sluging, but in that video you were sluging for 4k unless you took that video from someone else
So let me tell ya guys a secret, don't try to get adept, turn your brain off, and play like a crazy mf this has gotten me many adepts as killers even in the worst possible situations, example? I won adept in my first ever trickster game with the yellow perks and brown addons on rpd, the less you care the more probably to get the adept it works 99% of the time cause it happened again with dracula i TRIED getting the adept for the first 3 games, and didn't get it, then on the fourth game i was like "fuck it let's have fun" and ran into a team of sweats and absolutly destroyed them and got the adept with the yellow perks again
eh, I do think it would be better if it was 3 kills + no gate escapes but these are the only recent achievements you have to try to get. the other ones are just doing something a few times
Even if this isn’t nothing new it’s still a Massive issue in regarding balancing, not only does this make you feel dreadful doing just one achievement it’s NOT fun especially with how popular this game is now doing these achievements are now scummy since you have to slug and sweat for the 4K, it’s just one simple fix by having the kills don’t matter to win but hook percentage would and should be a better game changer instead of slugging and/or proxy camping, especially if one survivor is dead and three are still in the trial you still have to proxy camp and tunnel just so you have an advantage as the killer and its not fun no matter who plays I know that hook percentage is something controversial considering the toxic nature of this game (that means both killer’s and survivor’s this isn’t one sided) but none the less doing adepts is awful since you have to ruin the fun for yourself and others.
Then 3K should count as well since 3-4k is win for killer. And for Survivor Adepts hatch shouldn't count, since Hatch counts as a draw and not a win for survivors.
@@valeriebreidenstein8362 yes, that understandable, usually the hatch escapes are when the gates are not open and the the rest of the team have died so
@@Pedro4041-r6x And then when you do an achievement you have a very high chance that the hatch spawns in the survivor's favour. Since you can no longer see where the hatch will spawn you can't even play in a way that will have you be near hatch when it opens, so that you can stop the survivor from jumping in before you catch them. I only got one killer adept and that only because I had the best map for my build (Scratched mirror Michael on Lery's) and the last survivor gave away their location by fast vaulting a window and running down to the basement and hiding in a locker, which made it easy for me to get that Meg.
I was very close to the adept 1st try but one of the survivors on death hook had ds(I had already chased and hooked another person in between downing them again.) And they escaped
You could also not do the achievement. Achievements give nothing. If your problem is boring gameplay, people will play like this whether there are achievements for it or not. If you do not wanna play like this, don't get the achievement.
Yes, it's almost like I said if you want to do the achievement you're forced to play like this. Just because some people play in a boring way regardless, that doesn't mean actively encouraging this gameplay is fine, it's still dogshit game design. Maybe you like to play vs some of the most mind numbingly tedious gameplay ever but I'm willing to bet the vast majority of players don't and would rather it not be actively encouraged.
@@JCglitchmaster Dude no one is forcing you to play like this. If you have to play like this cause you want to get the achievement, you are the one who forces yourself to do it.
I disagree... I say it like the only way to get a 4k is to playing in the most unfun and scamy way possible, but playing casually i get a fair bit of 4k's, specially with killers that i have low MMR. The old adept was really bullshit, because you had to double pip and some killers are terrible for it, so you really need to play around getting the archivement, and it didn't help when the killer have some dog shit perks, but in general, i don't think it is necessary to play in a unfun way for a 4k and facilitating it even more would make it so trivial, that it would even worth anything to say that you did it? In general, i think there's some archivements that force you to play in a very unfun way, but adepts are far from beeing a problem or compare to something like 4 mori Mayers. Also, you don't need to try hard to get it in your first match... If you get unluck with hatch ou get in a situation like in the video, just go next.
