The Custodes were misplayed, all the dreads have a built in FNP, I didn't see him rolling those. Also biker captain should have had a 5+fnp as well if the list was built right.

Did you ever roll for the 6+FNP for the dreadnaughts? Also when the telemon took 3MW+8D from the rail gun, it's -1D so it's bumped down to 2MWs+7D with a 6+FNP.

Honestly I watch these videos because the players make the full game of 40k so enjoyable to see play out. The games often come down to watching two players cheer as the Dice Decide and genuinely happy for each other as they make hits and saves. Also the high-end production design and skillful voiceovers make tracking the action and battle concepts super easy to follow.

Wish we could have seen a full 2k points game between these two. Now to wait until mid 2023 for the next Custodes match

That bait with the breachers and devilfish was perfect. Getting those custodes out into the open in front of such a formidable gun line was a play which almost(?) decided the game Turn 1.

Awesome battle report, great work guys. In such a short battle report it can he hard to keep track of what is going on, but the switch to top down camera angle, animations and the narrator commentary really helps it easy to follow everything. The sacrifice of the breacher and Devilfish was a classic life that bought the custodes out into the killing field. I agree with the narrator that putting the bikes in reserve was likely a mistake. When the custodes moved out they needed to move out with everything to overwhelm the Tau and leave something that can charge the main Tau lines.

I appreciate that we have a Custodes army that arent all the same gold color like everyone else

You switched up the names of the stratagems nick, "Pulse onslaught" makes it so that hit rolls of 6 either auto wound or score an additional hit, the stratagem you used in turn 2 is actually called "Relentless fusillade" at least, I think so anyway

I love seeing how far Nick has come since his first Melee Tau game all those years ago. I really love that he hasn't just abandoned that, and has managed to incorporate it into such a formidable army. Always love it!

Watching Nick's Tau in action always brings me immense joy, but Rhino's Custodes looked so fantastic too. This was a great battle and I hope I see Rhino here once more.

Great video, lots of fun. Nick's T'au are really overwhelming now that they have a 9th edition codex! I really, really appreciate the less-than-1-hour format of your video reports. I cannot stand to watch a 3-hour long battle report.

The TAU are just stupidly overpowered this last season. You cant account for that many guns with markerlights that negate cover on highly expensive units its trash.

As always, professionally-done with the editing. Always a treat to see some fantastic action. Custodes are criminally-underrated and a rare, but beautiful, sight to behold. Thanks for the game, it cheered up my dreary afternoon.

I really love these 40k in 40minutes. They are simply amazing.

Absolutely brilliant game, one of my favourite in a while! DrRhino's gorgeous Custodes were in for a nightmare fight from the start to be fair, but Nick was and extremely gentlemanly opponent in deliberately not spending CP to do certain things during the game to make it more interesting. Just generally good sportsmanship all round.

Can we get a play on tabletop soundtrack? The background music is just to kickass to not appreciate every day.

As Someone getting into 40K and has these 2 armies as the ones I would like to get, this was really fun to watch

Man my first army was Tau back in 3rd edition I've played (almost every army) on and off since. My last game was 2017. But man play on table top and tau nick has me wanting to play tau again.....

A 4x player 10K (each) battle would be sick ...it would take 37 hours, but it would be sick.

If I had seen these custodes before I started I might have gone with them over chaos. I wanted an elite army but ALL GOLD is so stupid to me. But these guys have the same air as the guys from the cover of fall out new vegas.

The Custodes main weakness is *definitely* a lack of models/units on the board. A good enough shooting phase can severely limit the custodes options.

Also don't forget the Galatus shield gives a 4++ and -1 to hit in hand to hand, and all custodes dreadnoughts have 6+ FNP

by the emperior! those custodes look amazing. i too didnt paint mine gold, but rather went with a knight silver with copper accents with royal blue cloth. making the combination allowed me to give them a steam punk knight theme across the board. combine that with some green stuff and it all came together pretty nice. cant wait to see more of your custodes in future games. your giving me ideas ;)

im pretty new to the game of warhammer but dude... why do the tau look so incredibly unfair? i have NEVER seen them lose yet its kind of crazy.

To all custodes players, let this be a lesson to use terrain wisely, obscuring terrain is a custodes players best friend trust me

One thing that I think could be added for editing was what Ka'tah the Custodes player was in as that one's kind of complex to track if you don't know what you're looking for

First I think we all love these 40K games, but does it bother anyone else that there is always a hair or something in the dice box?

The Custodes are extremely tough, BUT, the Tau have a lot of good firepower, against Custodes low model count, that works well, and because of that low model count the Custodes cannot fire enough back, so the Tau keep having too many shots for too long. If the Custodes get into close combat the Tau are done, but you have to get there first. But i loved this game, Tau player was having massive fun, but i think even though he kind of drew the short end of the stick he also really enjoyed it as well. And he got a first kill on a Devilfish that had never even been hurt before. But i am not sure if that was the right choice though. Moral victory i guess. The legendary untouchable Devilfish was just gunned down real fast in this battle. The Riptide, those things always have to die fast. That Dreadnought charge on him though, oh he was pissed. And the Riptide was like WTF!? And yeah, the Tau shoto first and hard usually, but once the enemy gets close, yeah, they're not too happy with that. What's the worst thing about this battle ? It wasn't long enough, this should have been 2-3K points, i'd love to see a longer game with these guys. And maybe then the Custodes can form more of a spear point and punch through from one side and just keep going. I think this is the battle i've enjoyed the most. These guys are cool, and for him to only be playing 18 months, cool.

Been a subscriber for 2 years now, love this channel so much. I have always wanted to play 40k but because of its cost and my inability to paint (which makes things more expensive cause I gotta get someone to paint models for me...which takes money turns out) I have only collected Aun'Shi, Shadowsun and 3 XV22's that look finger painted lol. It is wonderful to live vicariously through these games, especially any involving Nick because Tau are the best and that guys paints them better than any I have seen! Also love how you always play them so differently every game and so much differently than they are typically seen being played. Yall might become the first ever patreon that I ever subscribe too!!
