Yas, moar Titanicus on here. Love your work @wintersSEO, good to see you're getting the hang of the game! As per usual, some educational notes through the game: - Belicosa is Strength 12, that means the Cerastus would not get any saves and those Knights should've been vaporized on turn one. Good that you caught that later on :) - Remember that Apocalypse Missiles get +1 to hit over 30" away, there could've been some 2+ fire on the first turn. - On Awakening Machine Spirit, remember that you get a Command Check to suppress it. That Warlord might have operated normally. - Megabolters are Rapid, so sixes count as two hits and are very good at stripping shields (Warhounds on turn two). - On armour rolls, even with Thermal Mines on third turn, all rolls of 1 always do Superficial Damage (aka nothing) regardless of the attack's Strength. Also that Warhound on turn three would've suffered nothing from the snake-eyes Belicosa shot. - No targeting with the Plasma Blastgun, as Blast and Template weapons are forbidden from Aiming. That's why the Warlord's Sunfury Plasma has an edge over the Blastgun as an executioner's gun. - While killing the Warhounds on +3 from injuries, also remember +1 from Flanking. - Armour rolls are always counted from the smallest to the largest, so on turn five the Reaver shooting at the Warhound would've first knocked the plasmagun off with the first 9+ and then caused detonations with the larger roll. - Remember Carapace guns have minimum ranges on smaller targets, was that last Reaver within 8" of the Warhound in the end? It's always a pleasure to see your narrative reports, please do more of these :)
@@matthewrumsey356 incorrect, that is not supported by the rules and was also corrected on WHTV twitch stream by the man who wrote that article. The Lancer rule adds +1 to the Save roll, except there is no value that would be enough on Save '-'. Warhammer Community articles are never a good source for rules, they are rife with errors like the previous blunder with knights and Charge orders (which grants bonus per unit, not per model and has been confirmrd thus by the main designer).
@@matthewrumsey356 a FAQ is currently in the works, it shouldn't take too long to have it out. This issue doesn't need it, though, as the +1 to the roll is explicitly said on the Cerastus terminal without any lenghty descriptions of altering the save chart.
Disabling weapons works like void shields, so the other hits would not cause detonations but would be discarded. But I realise this comment was from before the FAQ 😅
LOVE the orange/red warhounds, beautiful!!! I think i'm about ready to paint a titan now, been practising on basic marines. After the titan i will be confident enough to paint my primaris leader unit. I have no idea what i'm talking about but i love painting these things, this is my therapy and it works a dream, great vids Winters, thank you!
I have watched a few other Adeptus Titanicus bat reps on some other RU-vid channels and yours are by far the best. The bit of story you spin at the front makes all the difference. I do feel kind of sad that Fear the Darkness keeps getting killed though. Has it made it through any of the games so far?
Hey Winters. I just want to say thank you. Especially love how you have mentioned Gaunts Ghosts which is a massive love of a series of mine. I also love how you have brought me back to 40K. I have spent years away from the hobby but always had it in the back of my mind, your channel especially has been a favourite recently and brought me back to the hobby. Love how you explain the game with “winters hand”. I have started painting again. Thank you mate love deployment zone and what you lads do! Keep up the narrative As well! For the emperor! And all that jazz!
finally made the time to watch this mate, love the game and good sportsmanship! no one seems to've pointed out that plasma blastguns are 30pts for a reason. they're BLAST weapons so 2 hits when hitting, but they would've potentially hit themselves alot with scatter! look forward to more AT soon ; )
Was a good game, but there were at least two occasions near the end where you should have turned your titans to where your opponents titans _were going to be_ at the end of the movement phase rather than _where they were_ at the beginning of the movement phase. I think you lost out on a couple shooting phases that could have swung the game back in your favour... or not. But still, something to keep in mind.
Love your work Winters, keep it up. You guys missed some importent rules. Rolls of 1 to damage is always ignored, and plasma blast gun has blast rule, so if it hits it hits twice, if it misses it scatters.
Also, please check the weapon special rules, warhound plasma guns are blast weapons, so can’t target a specific area, and later the 2nd warhound may have blown since there was a direct hit (so central hole would be over the base = 2 hits to the body not just one) These things are game changing
Great looking match. I could easily see this game expanded to include Vehicle and aircraft miniatures to be used as "infantry" and maybe tokens for actual infantry with different commands and combinations with vehicles or air units to damage titan components or attempt infiltration to damage or even kill internal systems if titans are not sufficentaly guarded against infantry tokens. This could be a whole new way to experience grand warfare in 40K and open up a whole new line of models at grandscale. Add in all the other races and we could have an amazing strategic landscape. Hell add in orbital support tokens and add an orbital combat phase to resolve orbital support abilities.
Cerastus knights cant have 4 in a banner. Max 3. Dont forget blast weapon rules. They cant target locations and hit everything under the blast. You missed extra hits on knights.
They need to release a FAQ. Strategems are once per game unless they state otherwise. Voidbreaker Field is proof. It actually states that it can used on a subsequent turn if you roll a 1. If you don’t roll a 1 then it cannot be used again.
Great Battle. More AT soon please. (It may have been made harder for Ignatum if all destroyed titans left behind dangerous terrain/blast craters/laid low titan shells)
The plasmas of the war hounds use the small blast template. On a hit they make two hits, if the hole of the template is on the model. It´s a nice report, but you guys make so many rule mistakes all the time, that it really makes it a bit hard to watch.
A good way to get your knights made into a crater by a plasma blaster or a volcano cannon is to make the m stay base to base . Spread em out people it saves knights lives
Titanicus has been tempting me but there doesn't seem to be much variety in minis yet? Hopefully they branch out to other factions at some point. Orks and Eldar maybe.
When you hit the Knights with the Volcano Cannon you still have to see how many hits you achieved. The main Knight that you targeted received two hits for being under the center but any other Knights under the template will count towards the total. You should have had 5 hits in total as long as the rear Knight fell under the circle. Knights should have had only a 6+ vs Volcano Cannon. Ion shield gives a minimum 6+ regardless of strength.
Never played the game, but I have watched quite a few games and I still think it's flawed:( The one who stand still and take aim orders at the backline wins. No sence in charging forward, you loose volume of attacks only to be destroyed by focused fire. The game realy need objectives and or VP scoring zones or something to breakup the static sluggfest advantage I have watched so fare. Is there even a to hit modificer penalty shooting at moving targets?
@@jasparbupre8944 Weill you realy have some strong arguments convincing me I am wrong:) would have prefered that you had taken the time to Tell me why you think I am wrong or if not able to do that. At least link to a battlereport that show PF charging tactics >= static shooting.
If Titanicus is played on basically open fields, it does devolve into a First Fire slugging match that's won by who over brought the most laser blaster/plasma annihilator Warlords. If you play with large amounts of line of sight blocking terrain, you force the Warlords to move to find fire lanes, reward the Reavers for trading a little bit of firepower and durability for a little bit of maneuverability, and allow the Warhounds and Knights to close without being annihilated. The game isn't perfect, but playing any war game where fire support units can be totally static and dominate their entire board is always going to seem dull.
wow i feel like there was a lot of rules errors with all the shooting in the first turn made it really hard to watch. love this game and winters but i cringe at very simple game changing mistakes
Yep can't believe that a guy busy filming, playing and narrating a game could make some insignificant rules mistakes in a complex game he doesn't play very often...
@@MD-so4ws i don't play often either but i know the warlord volcano cannon is s12 not s10 it was a simple mistake but it was game changing because a knight would have died from that shot.
@@MD-so4ws messing up the apoc missiles launchers in the first few turns and im almost certain that the knights ion shield is not that good ive only played against them once but im pretty sure they dont get a 4+ against S10
@@winterschwartz9522 pointing out rules errors does help people not make the same mistakes and them game inst enjoyable when they make game changing mistakes
Not gonna lie, that narrative...felt a little weak. I'm sorry but I don't fully understand why it's an auto army-wide victory just for one Titan slipping past the lines. Surely the Knights of the Forge wouldn't look at that one Titan trotting along toward the city and think "Well shucks mates, one got through. Better let'em all through, we failed." No, they'd keep fighting. Hell they'd probably turn around and shoot that hobbler in the back. I'm sure it was meant to balance the game out for the other guy, since Winters had the mines and the artillery to play with, but to be fair, *for the narrative,* that other guy was never gonna have it easy anyway. He's having to run a gauntlet through a heavily-trapped, defended canyon guarded by Titans bigger and meaner than him. I just couldn't feel it ending after a *single* Titan slipping through the net. Maybe if half the army made it through, or all the remaining models, but winning with just one making it through feels weird and weak. It insinuates the defending Titans would just step aside and let the others past - y'know, the one *extremely* wounded Warhound and the Reaver that barely did piss-all that the Warlord Titan could probably handle by himself - go along through just because one enemy Titan sprinted past them like a lunatic. Still a great video though, love the Titanicus stuff.
I thought it was a great video but from a narrative pov i think you are right, the game mode is flawed in that aspect. Just discovered this channel (and 40k in general) and it's the best of the 40k youtubes i have found yet.
I dont think it insinuates letting the other titans through at all. "Just" one titan would not be a comforting thought to any defending infantry/tanks/anything else in Olympus Mons. Thought the game was suitably tense - like trying to plug leaks in a submarine!
Yes, obviously the defenders wouldn't be overjoyed to see a Reaver Titan approaching their lines. But why does that one Titan making it through constitute an army-wide victory for the Fire Wasps? The defending Knights of the Forge were in the ascendancy. Two Warhounds gone, the last one - and the *warlord* of the attacking forces - about ready to fall over and die on his own. Two Reavers who could be handled through the co-ordinated efforts of Winters' one Reaver stripping the shields, and the Warlord Titan hammering them with those giant canon things it has. So why does one Titan slipping past them constitute a victory? As I said, surely they could just deal with the remaining Titans - one of which is nearly dead - then turn around and chase that escapee down.
'Let's fight our enemy of equal strength in the bottom of a ravine with no way out for either of us.' - lol said no general ever. But I have to say. It's a gorgeous board. 'We could just park some ordinance on the cliffs and rain down death on people in the valley. Be like shooting fish in a barrel. ' Nay that's not very sporting. 'Let's get down into the valley an meet them 'Queenbury rules'. Do it properly like gents. Look better on UTUBE.'
