As a heavy runner I chose this shoe as a barebones daily trainer for it's firmness. Its outsole is not continental but it's insanely durable and grippy. I see people saying there is no point to this shoe, perhaps because they are not the right body type for it? Later on maybe I will try the Bostons since it's praised by a lot of heavier runners for it's firmness and durability.

I'm a heavy runner too so just got a pair of these , yet to test them but must say the rubber on the soul feels just the same as my pro3's and prime X's , I guess we'll see . At £50 it was worth a punt 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Im a heelstriker. Use the adios 6 as speedier work. I do see the point of the shoe as a slightly more cushioned more comfortable shoe than sl.20.2 . I use the boston 10 as long but not slow run. Maybe this can be a good mid distance run and cheap too.

for me it works great anywhere between 3:11/km reps and 5:00km easy long run. i use adios 7 for tempo up to 10 miles done 40k so far

I got this one with a 35% discount code and TBH was glad did not have to pay any more than £71. Initially I found it had a rather shallow toe box and fitted about 1/2 size short - think because the heel padding throws you forward a bit. That has improved a little bit after 3 runs. I can't really feel the Lightstrike Pro unless I go somewhat faster than my easy pace and get more of a toe off. That said it is not a shoe that I find makes me want to try and go too fast - perhaps a good thing for most "daily" training. I think it is OK for the price and especially if you like a relatively firm stable ride but bit like the last video of yours I watched on the Ghost 15 another dull shoe and makes me look forward to session days in more "exciting" shoes all the more.

I'll get a pair soon.. and can't wait. I've got a Boston 10 and 11 too. Will be a good pairing.

Short, sweet and to the point. Thanks for that. Wondering if they could simply manufacture it cheaply enough to add to the range and see how the public reacts ... before tweaking their range? Just a thought....

The stryd is meant to be placed furthest forward on the front row laces

Have really enjoyed the SL20 range, great daily trainers at an excellent price point. I'll keep an eye on these, surprisingly true to size as I always go up a half size

Tried these on at a local store and they felt very weird. The transition from Lightstrike to Lightstrike Pro was unnatural.

What is the point of this shoe in the Addidas lineup? And why do you think they don't use Continental rubber on a daily trainer? You are very good at trying to find positives here. Thanks.

No idea on the Continental rubber, maybe cost-cutting. I don't think it's a strictly necessary addition to the line-up, and before testing I very much struggled to see the point, but I can now kind of see the point as a lighter option to the Boston that feels bit more like the old Boston. If you find the Adios comfortable for daily training that is better, but I'd guess a lot of people wouldn't use it for that, then this is another option. And cheaper, though not by much compared to Adios.

i love the SL20.2 for a daily trainer. Descently light, nice cushioning and stiff enough to go faster. I don't understand how the adizero SL compares to the SL20. I hope it is not firm like a brick, as the bostons are

This is the new SL20 - they just decided to move it into the Adizero line.

I've been running in the Adidas Adizero Pro for the last while. I'm on my fourth pair and used them for training and racing everything up to marathon, with PBs all the way through. Without doubt the best shoe I've ever had. Now the whole shoe has been retired, what do you recommend as a replacement?

Wanted to like these but maybe I’m spoilt with the endorphin range. If you have flat feet these will hurt your arch. Don’t see that mentioned anywhere but that’s my experience trying them on

So if it fits between the A7 and the B11 for trainers, can you see them eliminating either or both of the others? Seems odd especially at the price point to have three shoes.
@TheRunTesters
@TheRunTesters Год назад
I doubt they'd kill off either of those, maybe this will replace the SL20 line instead. That said, shoe companies never seem too worried about having too many shoes in the line-up!

@@TheRunTesters Fair point. I saw your other reply about an alternative for the old Boston style, which may make sense if the Adios 6/7 hadn't existed. I enjoy the 6 for daily training and slightly faster work (despite being a larger guy) so I'll need to see more definitive positives about the SL before I bite. Look forward to more reviews!

Will def cover this in full review, but for now I’d say if you like the Adios for daily stuff I’d just grab that in a deal, but we’ll see!

So, I guess it is great for forefoot/midfoot striker and tempo and speed run. So much for "incredibly soft' Lightstrike midsole from adidas . LMAO.

I think Adidas missed the mark again for daily trainer. They are putting Adizero label, which is their premium running shoe lineup, but this is pretty ordinary shoe with no standout characteristics save that puck of Lighstrike Pro in the forefoot (pretty much a gimmick). They could at least throw in Continental rubber for a shoe that is supposed to soak up a lot of training miles. I would take PUMA Velocity Nitro over this.

Like the illegitimate child of the Adios7 and the Boston 10 ........................... Seems like a shoe with no real niche within Adidas line.
