Matt, Do you or anyone else have >100 miles in the K Pros? I'm curious if the PWRRUN component will soften up and change a lot of opinions of this shoe. I know for myself, my K14s are significantly different after breaking in that EVA midsole. I even notice this softening effect in the PB of the speed 3 but to a much lesser degree (PB softens mildly for me and keeps a great responsive feel for well over 400 miles). Also, I second the idea of showcasing your gait and some of the other DPTs on your team.
Still don't get the point Saucony launching this shoe when they already have arguably the best trainer/racer on he market-the Endorphin Speed 3. That shoe can do it ALL.
I always run with Saucony. The shift for my endurance runs, the pro 3 for my races. In the past I ran my intervals and fartlek's with the speed 2 but... The Speed 3 is too unstable. Which shoe would you recommend between competition and endurance shoe?
Great review. I really enjoy your shoe-to-shoe comparison videos. I understand they’re not the same shoe at all, but do share some DNA: thoughts on Triumph 20/21 vs Kinvara Pro? I really enjoy running in the Triumph (almost 300 miles on my 20s), but the K Pro intrigues me as a Saucony fan (~250 miles in Speed 3 and ~175 miles in Kinvara 13). Thanks!
When you talk about paces and reference Tempo do you mean anyone’s Tempo effort regardless of what that pace is or it feels good at your easy pace which is (for example) 10min/m pace but less good at your Tempo pace which is (for example) 8min/m and if someones Tempo pace was 10min/m it would therefore be a good Tempo shoe for them?
It matters to me. I don’t get how it doesn’t matter to those who love the sport. Like using an oversized bat to play baseball and saying it’s ok because you’re not a pro.
Does Nascar comply with Formula 1 regulations? The world athletics rules apply to the pros, not to me as a mere mortal, legally they are not illegal for me. do you love the sport or the competition? If it's about fair competition, then yes, I get it, one player having a huge advantage is unfair, but unless you are competing for the win, who cares? My last marathon I came in at about #30k out of 50k, nobody besides me cared about me being a few min faster or slower. Besides that, most of the "illegal" shoes are "slower" (less efficient) than the tier 1 super shoes, so someone with a Tempo next % , Kinvara Pro, SC trainer etc doesn't even get an unfair advantage. If the cushion helps you, why not go for it? For me, the Superblast replaced the SC trainer v1 as long run shoe, I would certainly race in them if I hadn't my super shoes.
@@ayowser01 I don't think it's same, the proposition is to make the "product" more enticing for viewers, not to have an advantage over another. *don't mean to open a can of worms
