For me the most important info is that THESE WILL TAKE A WHILE TO BREAK IN. Like I genuinely thought of returning them because I hated how they felt out of the box. They felt stiff, not very responsive and uncomfortable. Now(after using them for around 5 sessions) I love them, my absolute fav in rotation, even over the Harden 7s. So keep them in mind
interesting point about the traction. it felt incredible at first but i think i might be in that phase where it’s picking up dust. hoping i’ll reach that point where it gets grippy again soon, i was really starting to regret this purchase because of it. one thing i want to add is the heel-toe transition on these is *much* improved over the 4. it’s got the perfect combo of flat and rounded surface area imo.
What about Cushion Mitchell himself said this for Complex magazine: "The D.O.N. Issue #5 is all about high-performance and features adidas’ newest technology of the caged jet boost and light strike midsole." But I don't see that Jet Boost here. By the way it would be nice to compare under microscope Don's 5, Harden's 7 and Young's 3 to see if there are any differences are between Lighstrike cushion.
Doc from a medical standpoint is it good, bad or neutral to have say 2-3 different shoes that you constantly rotate in between for a certain sport? Versus sticking to one shoe (or multiple pairs of one shoe if we wanna be picky and compare apples to apples).
Personally think this shoe is a step up from the previous models (especially the aesthetics 🤤🤤) and does everything that a shoe can. Its almost a perfect shoe for like- small forwards because they really are kind of an all rounding player whose playstyle is on the fine line between maximalist and nimble and quick. Can't wait for these to drop in India!!
I got the Don issue 4 and love them but am to the point where i need a new pair. Seems like a bit of a departure from those, wondering what the main difference in feel will be but i think i will probably take a chance on them.
i try to get out of my comfort zone aka New Balance and try something else and these look like you said a right balance of everything. lol adidas always has to put their 3 stripes just incase anyone forgets who made it
Hi Doc! Do nitrogen infused foam setups last longer than eTPU foam, like boost, or is it the other way around? I want a foam cushion that does not bottom out quickly. Thanks!
Kind of getting tired of every shoe reviewer just saying put an orthotic in it. Why cant the shoes just be made better? We understand an aftermarket orthotic will improve every aspect of the shoe, can we just hear how the shoe performs on its own?
