Hey Doc, looking for a shoe that has some give around the front of the toe box. I have a slight bunion on my right foot and when i stop quickly the toe slams up. My toenail is falling off now for the second time in the past two years. Love the Sabrina 1’s but even those gave me problems. I think the Harden vol 4 toe box was the last shoe I had that didn’t give me problems. Though I didn’t like the traction. Any recommendations?
Lol at that ultra thin forefoot zoom unit. 😭😭😭😂🤦🏾♂️ “Court feel” is so overrated and uncomfortable. I really wish people would stop glorifying it so Nike will *hopefully* stop giving the customers zero forefoot cushion/protection. 😵💫👎🏾 This is clearly a low budget sneaker and will bottom out QUICKLY lol. Definitely not copping. 😂👎🏾
I'm really glad they have such a great looking at performing sneaker as a WNBA release (and it is definetly a good decision by them because the WNBA is getting a lot of media coverage atm) but i am sad because i am a size 13 so i can't get them :(
Nike and Adidas tennis are just crap these days! My Walmart tennis shoe last 6 month and cost only $40! Barricades cost $140 and last me a month!😂 On the reviews here, I will try a new pair of Barricades on at the local tennis store and see hoe they feel.😊
Awesome review sir! Thank you for this. A few questions: 1) is the double thickness shank the same or beefier than the double thickness shank in the Sabrina 1? 2) is the zoom unit in the forefoot the same thickness as the Sabrina 1? Thanks in advance.
Disagree. I think the main drivers behind the popularity isn't based entirely on good design. There have since been many shoes that do exactly what you say here in this video (and arguably better than kobes). There's a whole mamba mentality. For a lot of players in the league now, guess who they looked up to when they were kids watching the finals? Kobe. A lot of pros consider him tied or slightly behind Jordan as a player. That's huge. Then there's the elephant in the room. So many custom shoes, signature player models... of players still in the NBA. None of these dudes want to wear shoes with another man's name on them. Since his death, his shoes have skyrocketed in popularity in the league. That's no accident. The alternatives are shoes with no name attached to them, that nike and the like clearly don't want to invest in, because there's no money in it. And then you have the other alternative that you covered, clunky old shoes of greats long gone.
@FootDoctorZach I love the content keep it man! Also these shoes somehow makes my plantar fasciitis act up, is this more of a me problem or is it the shoes?
Hearing exactly what I wanted to hear in this review, I couldn’t wear the 1’s right out of the box and didn’t want to go through the break in process. I have a medium width foot so these 2’s combined with the Move insoles are going to be my go to hoop shoes to preserve my protros! Thanks for the review great work
Was there a result measurement on the durometer test that is usually posted as a graphic in the reviews? Sorry if I missed it. Thanks again for the awesome video Zach!
Hi Zach - great video as always :) A cool video could be putting all of the types of foam and cushioning materials under a weak hydraulic press or just under pressure like zoomx vs strobel etc for an easy side by side comparison - just to show any obvious differences between brands or bouncy/shock absorping etc.
Hey doc! I have a video idea. What if you design a concept for a "perfect" shoe? Like something that could get a 40/40 in the URS and what people would like in general? You could just talk about it and draw it or show physical examples by showing your favorite shoes and its aspects that you like most. Thanks doc!
