1) SPZL is the name of Gary Aspden’s adidas Originals division. ‘Not a version of the Handball Spezial. The idea came from OG specialty shoes. Spezial is German. 2) The Mod Trefoil is a modified trefoil that has its origins in the logo for the German national football team. There is a famous photo of Adi Dassler in a track jacket with the DFB logo on it. The Mod Trefoil is a one-off that stuck and became the official logo for SPZL. 3) fussbett is footbed or insole. It’s German, again, and it’s commonly included in SPZL releases to add some old school authenticity to these drops. 4) adidas and SPZL feature big on Liam’s solo tours. The logos are displayed onstage. It’s a lad thing, right. Adding nylon bits to the Barrington Smash gives OG runner vibes. ✌🏽💙👟
