You can absolutely see the leather differences! From the old and adv. the other thing I like personally is the sole on the “og” looks as if the sole is curved from the heal to toe. I’ve said they needed to fix that almost 20 years ago! Thank for listening adidas.
I am curious..what are gum soles and how are they different from rubber soles. Are they more durable as compared to rubber and modern foam based soles?
those og that adidas sells now, judging by the photos on the site, do not have many differences that you have listed. is it possible that all the cons you have voiced have disappeared? it just confuses me that advs in Europe are cheaper for some reason
Just came here to say that the adv definitely wins for mainly (for me) the tongue. Had the vegan pair (not very different from the og) before getting the adv and the one thing that really annoyed me when wearing them was the flat tongue. It just kept digging in to my ankle. The padded tongue is just way superior to the point where I’ll never see myself getting a pair of the ogs ever. I think EVERY sneaker should have padded tongues fr !!
The vegan is by far the worst. Made with fake leather and other cheap @ss materials that won't last. This vegan trend is a strategy by companies like Adidas and Nike to make cheaper shoes and charge more
If I'm not mistaken, OG are lighter and hence better for soccer. ADVs are for skating and more durable but also heavier. For soccer, I'd go for Samba classic and cut the tongue if it bothers you
hey man, great video!! really sold me on getting the ADVs. would you say it’s safe to get the same size for the OGS and ADVS? thinking of trying out the OGs in store and buying the ADVs online.
Thanks! I think you're safe to order the same size for both OGs and ADVs. ADVs might feel teeny tiny bit tighter, but in a good way! Due to the subtle extra padding.
I only went half size up on the ADVs because that was the only size available and I wanted to double up. I have a pair in my true size and it fits perfectly. If you have wide feet though, go half size up cause ADVs fit a little tight.
Hi! They said that the ADVs feel tighter compare to the OGs. So is it safe to say that if I wear 8.5 OGs, I'll get 9 on the ADVs? Hoping for your response.
Hey there, the ADVs feel slightly tighter due to the little bit of added padding in the tongue, and as well as the elastic bands that are on both sides of the tongue to hold your foot down. I would stick with the same size as your OGs, it's more snug in a good way to protect your feet. No hurting in going half size up, but I think it'll be slightly long in the toe. I hope this helps!
The current OG has no logo on the heel anyway. I bought a pair of OG and wasn’t very impressed. Kinda a bummer since they look great. I’ll have to get a pair of ADV.
Is there a difference in the outsole between these and the OG? I saw on the videos it’s pretty much identical besides for the logo but is one more grippy vs the other?
The outsole on the ADVs are made with slightly more translucent gum and they're also a bit thicker all around. Because of these small differences, the grip on ADVs are better.
J'ai 52 ans et j'en ai eu beaucoup des paires de basket dans ma vie. Je possède les samba og et je dois en changer aujourd'hui après 8 ans de bon et loyaux service. Comprenez bien, la paire de chaussures m'a duré 8 ans. Je n'ai jamais eu de chaussures aussi solide de toute ma vie. Alors oui les samba adv sont plus qualitatifs et surtout plus de couture mais je ne pense pas que ça fasse une grande différence parce que moi mes chaussures n'ont jamais eu de problème pendant 8 ans aux endroits où la chaussure adv est renforcée. Je suis obligé de l'échanger parce que sur mon pied droit le cuir retourné sur le devant s est décousu de la semelle en caoutchouc et sur ce point les 2 chaussures sont identiques. Donc je résume pour moi ces deux paires de chaussures pour un usage normal seront aussi solide L'une que l'autre et je pense que les og ont l'avantage de paraître plus fine car il y a moins de couture ,la semelle en caoutchouc est moins large. Elle fait plus classe.
C'est bon de savoir que les chaussures vous ont duré 8 ans, merci pour le partage. Gardez à l'esprit que les ADV ont des coutures supplémentaires car elles sont destinées au skateboard.
No, there is not a big weight difference. The ADVS are slightly more heavy due to thicker, higher quality materials, but the difference is minimal. Thanks for checking out the video!

Not long ago I bought a pair of black samba and I saw that there was a vegan logo on it on the back yet it's an OG. I don't understand, is it a real or a false one?
Bro ive never have a Samba i want buy the adv but im normally size 8 when the shoe is normally wide but when is narrow i up half size because my feet is short but wide…. In These sambas i buy my normally size or medium size up? Thanks !!
Je suis français et ne comprends pas suffisamment la vidéo,j ai donc juste regardé les images.les ADV sont renforcés mais les OG sont plus fines, plus class.J ai eu des OG pendant 8 ans donc elles sont très très très solides ! Je préfère la languette arrière des OG écrit adidas dessus que les 3 traits des ADV.
@@DJPark1 you could do a video comparing the Samba OG from 2015 and one recent pair,because I think that the newer version has a higher quality than the pair you got from 2015
Those og's look like knockoffs coz my og's leather looks like your adv and mine doesn't have adidas logo on the heel either and lastly sole is darker like your adv's
Like it says in the description, my OGs are from 2015. Long before everyone hopped on the hype train. Tweaks and variations can happen to shoe models over the years.
The classic ones are made from real leather whereas the adv ones have synthetic leather parts as well, maybe get your facts straight before reviewing them both. Personally i prefer the full leather ones , the ogs.
There are OGs, classics and ADVs, learn the models straight before you comment. Also, tweaks and variations are made to models over the years, my OGs are from 2016, long before the hype. Ciao.
