Thank you SO SO much for your reviews and keeping them so consistent, covering both good/bad points honestly, and the clear explanations for a newbie like me! I've spent HOURS trying to decide what to get - it's been so difficult to find good reviews on Adidas hiking shoes (like you said, seems Adidas isn't a common enough name for adventurers yet :)) and finally with your videos, I was able to make up my mind ^_^
I don't do hike but living in toronto which is snow-wet weather most of the winter i wanted smth more comfy than normal boots, compare to timbs premium to give an example to those that might consider to get them they are on the same lvl of warm, today in -20 Celsius with a thermal sock i felt warm enough when i walk for 30min outside, the waterproof is amazing and i had no issue so far when walking in snow that was melting and goes a few cm high, the outsole is amazing,in wet they are even better,in snow i feel my foot more secure compare to timbs premium,i got them 1month and i believe is the best shoe for all around winter city use that have similar weather to toronto, the shoe is warmer than was i was expecting tbh and if you consider to get them for temperature's that above 0 you probably gonna feel sweaty on your feet, they look amazing and provide good support on the heel, easy to clean with some water and if you wait a bit you can get them for -50% discount,i already saw them 2 times on discount since they release them
I have some gtx shoes, a salomon boot and a nike trail sneaker, and while gtx can be a little bit hotter than other shoes without it, i don't find that i sweat my feet on my country's climate which is méxico. We usually have 24 degrees celsius, and max 30 so i wouldn't call them sweaty really
Love these so far, got them on massive sale, 60% off. Probably due to cosmetic QC too. Only thing I don't like about these, is that I prefer the sock top from the originals over the tongue of the 2.0. It kept put debris and snow better.
Been wearing these 2.0 2023 model for couple weeks and is an excellent waterproof boot for hiking, but I don’t think they’re made for rocky terrain because of the wide sole which bends a lot and not sturdy enough to support the foot like the r2,r3 swifts and Skychasers do
I agree. I tried both at REI and climbed up and down the test boulder. compared to the La Sportiva Ultra Raptors these felt way less stable. but just walking around, these felt much more comfortable. trade-offs.
I like the way you thoroughly review shoes. You helped me barrow things down. Overall, would you choose these or the Moab 3 Prime that you rate very highly?
Good review. Thanks so much for this detailed explanation. I wanted to ask this: what is the main difference between women and men version of these shoes? Like the design are pretty same. Thanks for your response
There is usually no difference in terms of the shoe. I’ve been into Adidas sneakers for a long time, and all you really need to pay attention to is your UK size. They’re consistent across Mens and women’s models. So if you’re a UK7 (US7.5), get the UK7 (US8.5) in women’s. However, please note that terrex boots for Adidas have a little extra room in the toebox (perhaps for thicker socks), but regardless of that, UK7 will be UK7, whether it’s men’s or women’s.
Got a bit lucky and saw one on sale at a bicycle(!) website for just around AU120 or US80. Am a bit of an Adidas classic OG and Boost fan. I like that the upper isn't chunky yet still be a water resistant hybrid-lite all-around boot. Also Adidas usually don't offer very good insoles whether it's a casual or Boost related sneakers, so seeing one offered here is a big and welcome surprise. Very informative review there Top stuff.
Was gonna get swift r3's but alot of people say there pretty uncomfortable and not great on shiny surfaces i think you said there bad on wet grass too So might give these a go seem to be great in them departments didn't really want a mid but meh i can get along with em i really don't like high tops. If there comfy should be fine it's more rock hard leather boots that hurt my ankles. Looking for durability and comfort and a lot of shoes there like polar opposites lol you get one or the other it's not often you get both.. Also waterproof & non slip is a factor that i need, im mainly gonna be using them in winter with my dog and i really don't wanna wear my leather boots i hate.. 🥾❌ And my trainers just get soaked in wet grass in less than 100m.. Hoping this might be my solution
Thank you for your questions! Definitely these by a long shot lol Fairbanks are great for the price, but quality and feature wise, these are much better.
CAN YOU REVIEW THE adidas Terrex Free Hiker Cold.RDY Hiking Boots AND HOW ARE THE TOE PROTECTION. I'M HIKING MT. FUJI AND NEED TO PROTECT MY TOES ON THE WAY DOWN WITH THE VOLCANIC ROCKS. THANK YOU
Niiiiice, that hike sounds like A LOT of fun! I will try to get the Cold.RDY version for a review. There is not much toe protection here, so if you really need that, I'd recommend doing some more shopping around. I'd recommend going with something more applicable for mountaineering.
have you tried the Hoka One One Kaha 2? I am looking between those, the Adidas in this video, the La Sportiva Ultra Raptor and the Salomon GTX 4 for a hiking/survival boot. what would you recommend? thanks!
If you want more technical things and a lot of stability, buy the salomon x ultra 4 gtx, if you want some good techinical capabilities and a lot of comfort for very long walks or hikes, buty these terrex free hikers 2. And for survival both are great. The hokas I would not even consider them.
Hey, thanks for the question! Yes, these are pretty breathable, but if you want max breathability, I def recommend something non-waterproof, because you do compromise some breathability with waterproofing.
These are extremely comfortable and not hot with the goretex . I work in production st music festivals so weather and walking are expected. These hi tops are way more comfortable in my opinion than the speedgoat hi tops I used last year.
