Hey David, just checking in to make sure you're still breathing. I see you you all have the Jet Sleds. I bought one a few weeks ago to try out, they were on sale. I like it for packed trails (especially if a snow machine has passed prior to my arrival) but not to pull behind and on top of my snowshoe float. It seems to drag significantly more than my 10ft pulk made of HDPE. So I bought a strip of HDPE 12" wide 8ft long and intend to cut it in two lengths 6" wide and fasten them to the bottom of the Jet Sled in hopes of making it more friction resistant. Have been ice fishing back country lakes catching rainbow and laketrout - weather this season has been outstanding! Also, sold my last Snowtrekker and bought a brand new 8x10 shortwall with Knico Stove. I haven't even set it up yet. They're certainly not getting any cheaper. I Hope to use it in the coming weeks for a Lake Superior trip chasing steelhead in the various tributaries along the eastern seaboard - one of the most beautiful paces in Canada. It should be pure luxury in the tent. I also booked my Algonquin Park brook trout trip this year. Heading up to the north end of the park for 10 days, can't wait. Anyway, I hope this message finds you in good health. Looking forward to any video adventures laying around that you may have forgotten about :) Cheers and be safe!

That all sounds great. The jet sled gets the job done, atleast so far. Often the lake gets windswept so that makes for an easier pull. Not much snow or ice this winter, i didnt get to my trip goals but got out two trips w friends. Looking forwars to Brookies and exploring new ponds. I've got sinking fly line setups now and have practiced a few times, hopefully a few more before some long carries to remote ponds. Thx for checking on. Hope to see some email photos or a report on your trips!

What was the shell jacket you were wearing? It looks like you had a nice layering setup there with some weather wool but you also had a shell jacket that looked comfy. What was it?

It is from Eddie Bauer. Scored it heavily discounted as a return item at the store in NJ. Filled w down and lots of pockets.

Dumb question - when was this filmed? Didn’t think anything has frozen over yet. Awesome looking campsite!

Nice Dave. I've been on and off about getting a hot tent. This video has me back on :-) I've been researching for a year now but I'll have to pick your brain about them.
@NatureIntoAction
@NatureIntoAction Год назад
Yeah, I sure look forward to it. Different way to enjoy the park. There sure are a lot more less expensive setups on the market now too but I've been very happy with my snowtrekker.
@CanoeCampClimb
@CanoeCampClimb Год назад
@@NatureIntoAction It looks like a really nice setup. I am leaning towards the Russian Bear UP5... but its a big commitment dollar wise.

@@CanoeCampClimb Hadn't seen that one before, looks like a solid build. I like the canvas tents for the tried and true traditional style, lets a lot of light through and doesn't have any condensation like the modern materials get but they are heavier. Just like boats, can't find one to do it all.
@CanoeCampClimb
@CanoeCampClimb Год назад
@@NatureIntoAction yeah I like the stoutness of canvas too. I'll either get a polk or nice tobaggan to lug it around.

I can't remember, maybe -13. It sure got cold but the tents and stoves performed perfectly.
