This is my second class with this channel. Your instruction is superemely good. I never knew that this was a legitimate way to write a sentence. Writing simple sentences is actually quite difficult when you have a native fluency in the language. Its nice to have the 'rules' explained in this way. TYVM.

However, would it be possible to say " Researchers conducted an experiment whose results showed a link between loneliness and Pokémon Go"?. Hi Shaun, could you please help me with the following sentence: Bagdha Enterprise is one of the production units of Prokritee which makes products with the leaves from Palm and Keya trees. In this sentence, does 'which' modify 'Prokritee' or 'Bagdha Enterpise"? Thanks in advance.
@legaleagle46
@legaleagle46 7 лет назад
Neither. I read that clause as modifying "production units," which means that the verb "makes" should be plural, not singular. In order to make clear that the clause is modifying "Prokntee," the clause needs to be set off by a comma" "Bagdha Enterprise one of the production units of Proktnee, which makes products with the leaves from Palm and Keya trees."

Sir, You are an exceptionally good teacher. I have a question to you about relative clause. I have found the sentence "Find words in the passage that mean the following" in a book. Here 'that mean the following' is a relative clause in the said sentence. It's O.K. But the question is that the relative pronoun 'that' modifies the remote noun 'words' instead of the immediate noun 'passage' in this sentence. What's the logic behind this.Please explain it briefly.

@xhesitase9729
@xhesitase9729 7 лет назад
Why is it an independent clause when you replace whom with them?
@legaleagle46
@legaleagle46 7 лет назад
The reason is that the clause can then stand on its own, with the subject being "all of them." Clauses that contain a relative pronoun can never stand on their own as complete sentences.
