Quick and informative. One of the easiest repairs anyone can do with a basic tool that can be found for cheap

It is. A bit of a trial, unless you actually measure the gap. Watch done and being delivered Sat. 245deg amplitude and +2 seconds a day.

This video was exactly what I needed to perform a repair on a customer watch. Thank you for making something quick informative into the point!

Big, thanks for the great compliment in the review please share my videos with others and please hit like and subscribe. I’ve got another video coming on today discussing loosening cannon pinions as opposed to tightening.

Great short video,at the moment I’m learning how to repair/service platform escapements on clocks,when I achieve this I’m going to choose a pocket watch to work on for the first time,and this knowledge is so valuable and appreciated for my journey foreward,Thankyou.👍

Thanks for the comment and I’m sure that my videos will cover most of the repair you would have on a pocket watch.

I looked again and it is way more jittery at times than I thought it was. New computer in the Fall. 7000 Gigawatt processor with an additional confabulator.

Maybe a dumb question…How would the sleeve have gotten out of adjustment? (Maybe from winding, setting and pulling the crown over many years?)
@JDRichard
@JDRichard Год назад
Good question. I think a watchmaker would have done something here as normal winding would actually tighten or screw in the sleeve vs screwing out. Just a guess of course.

Someone switched out cases without swapping the winding stems. That's my guess.

With the wrench was it clockwise or counter that you turned it? Also is it possible to replace a pocket watch sleeve of needs be?

You mentioned storage and care. Ventilation and magic fingers that oil watches. Maybe you’ve made an episode on that. I just don’t remember seeing it, or really from any other channel so much. I have all mine face up in baby socks, inside wood cigar boxes. I keep them in a cabinet in my kitchen. Im back living in my home state of Florida now, so the air conditioning never gets turned off. Lately I’ve been looking at building up the tools i need to maintain, repair and restore them myself. I have bought several non working pocket watches. Sometimes i knew. Other times they are sold as working but they really don’t. But anyway. If you have made an episode on storage. Please reply a link. I’ll be embarrassed if you have and I’ve seen it. If you have I probably did.
