Interesting to install the train wheels into the top plate firstly. Getting around the insertion of the pallet fork if tried with putting everything into the bottom plate!

I have this same watch the diel has a shriners symbol on it

so i have a watch that the crown turns but the watch does not wind (i just found it as it was left brand new and has been sitting in its box for a while)

Hey Pete I’ve never used that putty to repair a dial but I did buy the Color-it kit from Gesswein to do enamel repair. I would be interested to see if I can repair porcelain as well.

Thanks for this great upload. I am having an issue with winding the crown and adjusting the time. In both of these cases the mechanism tightens up prohibiting from further servicing the watch. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can fix these issues? Thank you.

How much do you charge for cleaning and crystal replacement

I have a watch that worked fine, but I fixed that. Can you help. Local watch makers say it is now good for parts only. It's only missing a click spring.

Peter, thanks for the thorough video. I just came into a 18s Elgin pocketwatch from 1910 of remarkably similar specifications. The watch can be set with the dial, but cannot be wound and does not run. I am hopeful that it would just need to be oiled/cleaned like yours here. Would be happy to send it in potentially, if it is of interest to you. 2 quick questions: I am tempted to try to repair it using the tools you recommend and this video as a guide, however I have no other experience with this sort of thing. Is this a foolish endeavor? I see yours does not have glass on the watch face - was that standard for these watches? Cannot find anything about this. Thanks again for the great content!

Great video and info! I have a problem with screws slipping and flying out of my tweezers no matter how gentle I am with them. Is there anything I can do about that? I'm tired of spending hours to days on my knees searching for screws the size of a speck of dirt. Thanks in advance.
