Adjusting for Space in Analyses of Environmental Exposures 

Confounding by geographic place is a challenge in epidemiologic analyses of environmental exposures in large cohorts like those in the Gateway to Global Aging. In this webinar, we will cover the concept of spatial confounding and show how it can arise when studying spatially-varying environmental exposures. We present practical approaches of how to mitigate spatial confounding in analyses using freely available software and discuss the benefits and limitations of these approaches.
