Great video! My glasses are brand new and do not sit even when on a flat service and when they’re upside down, so I know the temple arms at the hinges were made slightly uneven, what should I do? I feel like asking for a new pair because I hate the idea of having new glasses bent just because they were made crooked.

Thanks for watching! Eyeglasses frames are meant to be bent and manipulated by opticians in order to insert/remove lenses and to tailor the fit of the frame to each unique individual’s face. I’d recommend taking them to an optician to get them properly fitted for your face. This does not negatively affect a new pair of glasses. I hope this helps! Cheers!

Thank you!! I'd like to know how would you behave in the following scenario: a patient has a difference in the vertical position of his pupils, not dramatic, but noticeable. A few millimiters. Do you align the frame, have the patient try it, and place the OC accordingly, so that that frame results "even"? Or do you place the OCs at the same height (of course assuming the horizontal PD is correct) and then bend the temples on one side so that the line of sight falls on the correct spot? I'm asking because, as a patient, I have trouble getting this right. I have the OC's placed at the same height even if my pupils are slightly misaligned vertically. I really don't care if the glasses appear misaligned when on the table, but I'm wondering what's the best approach in this situation. Granted, every case is different, but what's your rule of thumb? Keep up the good work!

Assuming the frame is properly aligned for the face, use different individual OC heights for each eye! Hope this helps!

Hello I accidently stepped on my glasses today and one of the sides is bent its not like the one in the video its bent down and its not all bent down only the part in the middle and I dont know what to do now. What should I do now?

I’m not sure what you mean by the middle part, but maybe this will help: look to bend the frame back to its original shape with all sides symmetrical like demonstrated in this video. If metal, simply bend (carefully), and if it’s a plastic part, warm it up gently with a frame warmer or hair dryer (carefully) and then bend when it’s a little softer. Best of luck!

Metal glasses are somewhat different, but the same principles apply. Whichever side you need to bring up, bend that temple down. More details in the video.

Careful bending it back then, as it might break if it’s bent too far. You can order a replacement for the broken piece through the optician you got it from. Good luck!
