Just found your channel. I'm bummed that you don't have more videos. I think you fill a niche. I was looking for info on a loose lens in a plastic frame.

Thank you very much! I’ll get to creating more videos here soon. I’ll make one about the plastic frame as well.

I have no idea what happened to mine, but there are actual gaps around the lens! Is it possible that when the lens popped out from my child, was the metal stretched??? I've tried everything I can think of. Screws are all tight. Nothing appears to be off at all. Other than the lens falls out - because that is HOW loose it is. I am befuddled. I don't even think lens liner would fill these gaps!

Looks like something you’d wanna take to your local optician. I’d opt for an older local establishment if you happen to have one around. Best of luck!

What if I have plastic frames
@DrNickDanger
@DrNickDanger 5 месяцев назад
It’s tough with plastic frames. An experienced optician may be able to “shock” the plastic into shrinking a little bit, and re-inserting the lens tighter. Maybe I’ll make a video about that in the future. Thank you for your comment!

@@DrNickDanger I got a new pair of glasses anyways. I’m a mechanic and glasses don’t really last too long for me anymore.

One of my lenses seems too big and I can’t get the joint to fully lock in and bite the screw because there is too much lens. How can I fix that issue?
@meggie160
@meggie160 Год назад
If the difference is very small you can file the lenses with a nail file but I don't recommend it unless it's an extremely small difference or it could affect your eyesight

If the lens was cut too big to begin with, take it back to the optician to have them size it down to fit properly. They’ll likely do it for free to own up to their mistakes. Best of luck!

Hi, thanks for your help! What if you have metal glasses that don’t have screws to loosen the frame? My glasses only have screws for the hinges and they aren’t attached to the rim, it’s separate. Thanks for your help in advance!
@DrNickDanger

Feel free to use the same trick! Again, this is only to resort to in a pinch. Ideally, you’d want to have an optician insert a liner or make other proper adjustments. Cheers!

What about with a wooden frame? Will lens liner work for that? Im assuming yes. But please clarify
@DrNickDanger
@DrNickDanger 2 года назад
Yes. A lens liner works by limiting the lens fitting space, making it a tighter fit be it a metal, plastic or wooden frame

In this kind of situation, go back to your optician you bought them from. They’ll be happy to fix a recent purchase, often under warranty if it’s been less than a month.

What do we do if the lens is way to big for the frame? I bought some glasses online and the lens fits height wise but not width it's like curved at the sides. It just looks weird when you put them on

You can have a local optician cut the lens down to size. If you don’t have access to an optician, and if it’s a plastic frame, you can slightly stretch the frame to fit the lens by warming it up, though I don’t recommend doing this at home, if at all. Just if you’re out of other options. Best of luck!

How to fit lens liner?
@DrNickDanger
@DrNickDanger 3 года назад
Find the right width liner for the frame groove and cut to size. Place the liner piece in the frame groove. Insert the lens properly with the liner in place. The pressure should keep the liner in its place between the lens and the frame.

@DrNickDanger
@DrNickDanger 5 месяцев назад
Yes this is only for metal frames, and far from an ideal fix. An experienced optician can slightly shrink a plastic frame down and re-insert your lens tighter. Best of luck!

Then you should take them back because it should've come with a guarantee.
