Adjusting the LubeMaster "Clocker One" - how to clock a mouthpiece

Still don't think "Clocking" your mouthpiece works?
Here is Joel, currently principal trumpet of the U.S. Coast Guard Band, dialing in our groundbreaking new "Clocker One" trumpet mouthpiece. (www.monsteroil...)
This is a wild mouthpiece we never thought would amount to anything. We took it to Midwest last year, and it was clear this was an incredible mouthpiece. Not just a proof of concept, but a player's mouthpiece.
For those of you who don't know, we took our really good "One" (orchestral 1Cish style) mouthpiece and drilled a hole in the side of the cup. This creates a massive weight imbalance, and allows huge differences depending on how you have the mouthpiece "clocked". These differences are pretty plain to hear in the video here.
We're making the Clocker in 3 sizes at the moment:
"One" - www.monsteroil...
"Three" - www.monsteroil... (slight backorder at the moment)
"Scream" - www.monsteroil... (will have a separate video up for this before too long - coming from a lead player who tried it for about 30 seconds before deciding he needed it!)
Demand is very high for these, but we just got a shipment in, so if you order soon-ish you should be able to secure one.
Happy to answer any questions in the comments!

My feeling is that slight changes in where the bell was pointed made noticeable changes to the room acoustics, and how the sound was recorded.

Did you find a bell difference consistently for each excerpt? In other words, did you see bell slightly left for each position 3 excerpt (as an example)? We spent considerable energy to record these and perform these exactly the same. Be sure you are listening on high quality speakers. When we introduced these at itg we had dozens of players come through and every single player noticed a massive difference as they clocked it. Including Jens Lindemann, Tom Hooten, Dr. Robert White, and many more.

Funnily enough the original Wick Heritage cornet mouthpieces had this characteristics due to the very deep engraved H on the side. The walls were very thin too. You had to get it in the right pisition. Eventually they stopped making them that way and laser engraved the H.

Are you listening on headphones/speakers, or cell phone?

I believe there is a scientific basis for all of this mouthpiece voodoo, from using sleeves to fine tune the gap to turning out mouthpieces that weigh as much as a brick to the notion of "clocking" the mouthpiece as a way of further fine tuning the playing characteristics of a trumpet. But in the development of this mouthpiece how can you be sure you are not drilling out the actual sweet spot or in some other way crippling the mechanics of the whole thing by removing that plug of metal from each one? You many indeed be making a great mouthpiece here, but are you possibly actually going two steps backwards just to go one step forward by removing all of that metal? Tell me what I'm missing, please?

We weren't exactly sure what we were going to get when we made it. Then we played it. And we were blown away. We test crazy ideas like this all the time that we never tell anybody about. But sometimes we stumble onto gold, as in this case. I wish we could sell these for $30 - everybody would be playing them. As for the science, part of it is the advantage of a lighter weight mpc in general. The other part is where you apply your energy. Like the Liberty Bell will sound very different depending on where you strike it.
